I got a text a couple of days ago from someone asking "You have or know of a young girl that can join us? Name your $$". Does anyone know how to report this guy without dragging myself into a legal situation? This is such a volatile issue, I worry about even typing these words. Pay phones don't even exist anymore. Suggestions?

related to this item. Can't recall where I saw this.

Keep in mind, unless they implicitly stated someone of non legal age, they may have been looking for an 18-20 yrs old.

Whether you want to get into a legal situation or not, there is a responsibility as an adult to report this situation if they implicitly stated what they wanted was illegal.

Seems like an innocent request for a threesome with you and a younger provider (18 to early 20s). I doubt he meant to request for you to be his accomplice in statutory rape. Maybe respond with a simple, "How young do you like them?" Hopefully his response will allay your fears. If his response indicates that he is in fact being a Fogle then please report away.

Yes, I get it that I should report it. I'm just trying to figure out HOW to report it. I'll tell ya what... I'll give you the phone number, and YOU report it.

When I consulted an attorney about advertising language in the business, he said "in the eyes of LE, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... it's a duck". Even though the language of the request does not explicitly state an age, I believe LE would take this kind of statement seriously.

From what i've read this was his mo, asking escorts he'd see to bring him young girls ,but like other have said thats a big jump to assume the guys asking for something illegal i this case ,calm down till to know the facts.I doubt you'd want someone reporting you for something you didn't do.

Wow! "young girl" seems to be such a vague reference. Unless the guy actually mentions that he is seeking someone under 18, then you really have no reason to assume that that's in fact what he means. And your attorney friend's comment is also pretty stupid. More than anyone, he should know the importance of getting the facts straight before making such a leap. Would it hurt to simply ask him how young is he talking about? Geesh.

previous guys. Since you are a provider in your 40s, the guy might have meant someone in their early 20s. I think you should ask instead if jumping to conclusions, which would be a terrible mistake. Why would you think he meant an underage girl? Did he ask for a underage girl or a certain age under 18?

I think if you misunderstood the guy, it would affect you as much as him. It would not hurt to always double check and make certain; especially in this type of situation.

If I say to you "I'm baking a birthday cake for a young girl". How old would a young girl be? In my mind, not 18 -20. That would be a young woman. But the red flag is the Name-your-price  portion of the request. Really? You gentlemen don't think that is a little odd? The thought crossed my mind that this request came from LE on a fishing expedition for traffickers.

I really hope the fishing expedition pays off. Trading 14 yr olds deserves torture.

What I learned here is that hobbyists use the word "girl" differently than I do. My definition would be a "female child". Coupled with the word "young", the use of the word "girl"  sent up red flags for me.

someone younger than my 27 year old son.
Please don't assume before you get some real knowledge of what he was asking for.
Sometimes we mongers are clumsy oafs when it comes to communication.
Not saying what your guy's intentions are.  What he asked is only ambiguous.
Hope it is just that.

I would have sent an anonymous email / call to the local PD of the person's number and let them sweat him some. People like Foggle deserves a special place in hell.   Some other boards openly have wording which borders on walking on a very tight rope in the wording.  I prefer ladies who are around my age and over who actually have some common experiences / musical tastes as me

And there is no such thing as "anonymous" phone call. Everything can be tracked.
