Can you please kindly explain why Doctor Spice....one of the most helpful, witty, and knowledgeable participants on the board is moderated???   Sure, not everyone always agrees with her positions, but she's is sincere and very articulate.   And compared to some of the other dribble and waste of bandwidth posts we get on here......i.e the one just below this thread!!....I simply cry "foul" over Cindy being moderated!!

Don't know ya personally, Cindy--although I'm sure you're as nice as Desperado says (were you at the recent M&G?  I'll tell you what my costume was if you tell me yours..).

But I thought basically everybody was moderated now?  Providers, hobbyists, both?

I never saw it as *such* a big deal--the turnaround time on one of my posts making it onto the boards is usually just a few minutes or so.  I mean, I'm as narcissistic as the next guy, but even I don't mind waiting ten or fifteen minutes until my post actually displays.

If there is a way to shorten that delay, what is it?  Is there a path to becoming a "trusted poster"?

It means when I make a post , the post doesn't get posted in real time and it needs to be approved by a "higher power" to get posted.

Moderated or not, does it really matter? At one time, many years ago I could post and it would go on immediately. Now it takes a few minutes to get posted, it doesn't bother me.  
So there I said my piece, now any hot Latinas available this Monday or Tuesday? I will be in causing havoc.......now moderate that.

Hopefully this "glitch" can be resolved soon!  I hated to resort to this approach, but, hey, whatever it takes!  LOL

Dr. Spice is a great contributor to this site.  Her posts were taking hours, or longer, to get posted.  No reason for that and based upon Admin's response, there seems to be a "glitch" in the system.   It's discouraging when there is such delay.  It's similar to when we all make those large check deposits in our bank account......and the bank doesn't give you immediate access to those funds!!  

Is she your Dr. Phil or... and it gets discouraging for who, really? I'll buy the notion of a computer glitch or whatever. But to equate a post to a monetary value is taking this a wee bit too far. But I respect your frustration, I just don't get it. Its not like it's the gestapo or anything... ......now where are the hot Latinas, dam it!

If the delay was just minutes , NO not a big deal .
When the delay becomes hours , yes it is a bit of a deal .
Not for every post it matters. But for many posts it does.

For certain posts and banters when they don't get exchanged in "real time" causes the post to lose
it's meaning ,point or effect and even "get stale"  

what does  " get stale " mean ? let me try to explain - Like if I made a post that expresses something that someone wants to reply to .
My post takes lets say 2 hours to post. in the mean time I have to get going.
by the time the post gets posted , I am away .
People respond to my post .  
I have things to respond back but by the time I return to make another post , and now that post is   taking HOURS to get posted ........now maybe the thread is on another page making my post stale. Cause really most people don't check the next page  

Heck many threads "get stale" half way down the page

So for ME that is frustrating and annoying........cause then why bother ?  
My post are trying to help and inform more people , not 15 people .  
For other people ???? , well some probably could care less , but for those who want to banter with me , I can assume it is a bit frustrating as when certain banter doesn't happen in "real time" ,  
it loses it's meaning.

Since this glitch has been on going for all my posts in the past 2 years , but yet never ever a problem in all my years on TER before that ....... it just makes you go hmmmm.

and when I see other types of posts ( that sometimes have no business going up at all ) go up in real time ,   Yes it gets frustrating and discouraging to ME !  

I am sorry you don't understand what the deal is about it .  
No one said it was a BIG deal , but it is a deal.
It isn't about ego or anything like that .

Yes. it is like that frustration of when you post a check into your bank account, but funds are not yet available to you even though you know that check will clear 110%

I made a comment , and he decided to ask about it in public.  
Anyone who knows me , knows I don't go running to my friends to ask then to stick up for me .
Not my style , and my mouth is big enough with out their help LOL LOL LOL LOL  

So when someone "white knights" me , it is purely out of their own hearts .
Which is very sweet , cause nice to know that there are people who do really care.

Hopefully this post has given you some insight to the world of the avid poster/reader.
