Just a thought....if you meet a lady and know you can trust her not to come back and ransack your room later (gasp), then share your extra key with her.  Then, she can have it for future use on another occasion to gain access to the elevators without a gentleman's assistance...it helps all of us!

Recently I have acquired some key cards from properties that have elevator security.
Gentlemen that I met with felt comfortable enough with me to give me their extra key so I can store it away for future use.  We all love it when we can go up to a room undetected and without a hobbyist's help.

Those of you who have shared your keys with me, I thank you, and so do the hobbyists who don't have to meet me on the casino floor.  In fact, I will be using one of my keys tonight!  :)

Thanks!

With all due reverence to your position, although it certainly makes things easier for you, generally speaking not a very wise move for a plethura of reasons.

Scratching my head here thinking of why I would want to give a provider a key card so she can meet someone else at a later date?

To each his own but I would never do it!

If you use an old (or should I say previous) key card to show the security guard to gain access to an elevator, you may not have the current version.  The hotels change them on a regular basis: change the colors, ad different advertisements, and the like.  If you show an old version to the security guard, he may figure out what you are there for and may want to have a little chat with you.

Some hotels rotate their cards and will stop you if you have an out of date one.

Though if you communicate before the date, one can discern if it is a current key by description etc, or even a camera pic if you want to get real fancy!  heehee...

At a few of the casinos they are a certain bold color and that is usually all the guard is looking to see a flash of...

And, that's why we have to keep the 'key sharing ring' going! Sharing is caring. hahaha  :)

Be VERY careful Samantha ...

I know someone very well from the MGM who has informed me to never do this. More no tresspass citations are issued because of "catching" gals doing just this.

They make subtle changes to the key cards frequently, for this purpose and train security to watch for this ... and I'm sure along with other security purposes in general.

Personally I will never do it.

Stay safe.

Many of the hotels make the changes to their card keys to keep unwanted guests from the pool areas.

Some hotels with elevator security have card reader machines at the security post to see if the cards are active (been a while since I have seen one and I don't recall which hotel).  That would not to be good to have them swipe a card, see that the guest has checked out, and speculate as to your reason for having that guest's card.  They could assume reasons other that providing that could mean trouble.

Most of the casino hotels routinely change the cards for advertising and/or security purposes. I thought it was a clever idea too until I got caught.

I gave my key cards of several hotels to a provider. I suggested that she look at other people's card to make sure that it looks the same.

to Vegas, I had lots of old cards. Figured be good for the full valet parking as they take your car if you have a room of course. Worked great until I flashed my Luxor card at the North valet and it was the wrong card. I still can't park there as the guy remembers me to this day.

"Knowing is half the battle"...thanks for sharing your knowledge with me!

( Retracing thoughts and inputting new information and ideas....and now thinking not such a grand idea to do anymore...and now I am paranoid! ) :)

I'm afraid a little paranoia is commonplace to this game. And not a bad thing as long as it falls short of DeNiro in Taxi Driver.......lol!

Samantha, I trust you will do just fine. Your reputation, intelligent posts and scorn for typo's all speak for themselves. :-)

You only have to be detained by security once and 86'd off the property. They may tell you NEVER to come back.

That will mean NEVER, because likely the security cameras have already identified your face. Why is that bad? Because the major casinos work in concert with their photos of undesirables or people that have been 86's off a property.

You do not want that problem hanging over your head and worry every time you enter a property. It is so much easier to have the gentleman come down and meet you on those keyed elevator suites. Meet in the gift shop so you do not look obvious. It is also not a good idea to just stand some place if you are not in a gift shop. The security radios begin to chatter again and they will zoom in with the camera, watching your every move.

.....to make the situation less obvious, I would suggest that the Provider not hold hands or grab the guys arm while going to the elevator.  Most of us are so ugly in comparison to the beauty of most Providers that even the Father/Daughter or Uncle/Niece picture isn't believable.  But many legit business meetings with all combinations of people do occur everday in Las Vegas hotel rooms.  That's where some clothing consideration might also come into play.

I have been dealing with this problem in my last visit to LV. My Hotel had key card and guard at the elevator...but once you check in they gave me two key cards.
So I met the lady in one of the gift shop, gave her one of my key cards, and went to the elevator by 5 minutes apart...it worked perfectly for all rendezvous...
Hope it helps...

You are always seen by the same people working there over and over ... hard to stay anonymous that way.

I always park in the self park area, and dress in business casual with my briefcase. Blending right in. :-D

....I will say your attire and suggestion to meet at the bar went very smoothly.  I'm confident no one gave it a second thought.  And, you were punctional.........possibly why many would rather wait in the comfort of their room.
Some of the best could drive a guy nuts waiting somewhere.

If you know the lady leaving your extra key in an Envelope at the check in desk. When she arrives at the room take your key back. I have done this many times.

She does need to show ID in most cases so guess what you need her real name and that could be a problem for some.
