Play@daPlaya   sorry to hear you been flaked on.

Whatever her reason was, personally I don’t think she handled it well. Of course I am going by your side of the story of how things went down.

I don’t believe in stringing anyone along...... …but that goes for both sides.
I don’t believe in double booking ………….......also that goes for both sides.

I also don’t believe in canceling on someone last minute with a fake excuse ( cough cough I am sick …… did you really think I wasn’t going to put two and two together , you know who you are ;-)  ;)
because something better came along/your first choice became available …….... also goes for both sides.

“there is a certain amount of respect which MUST go both ways”

I do agree with you ………… But that’s me.
I do hold higher standards of ethics , even if it is the business oh “hooking”

Many others don’t,men included.

Don’t do to others , what you don’t want done to you. If everyone would be like that, life would be so much better. ;-)
Don’t reward flakey behavior ,( as in booking someone who has flaked on you )maybe next time they will think twice before they flake.

I agree with you 100% Cindy, being a victim of this practice at least one time, it does seem to cause hard feelings.  But as you say, don't reward bad behavior by booking the provider again and hoping that she has changed.  Doesn't turn out that way.  Keep up you ethical practices Cindy.

Keep up my ethical practices. Nothing will ever change that in me. Even if others do me wrong.
I don't believe that 2 wrongs make a right ;-)

No one is perfect , but we sure can try our best.

Oh and regarding the flaking,it will also depend on the reason a person flaked, that you may give someone another chance.

Last week my car broke down on the way to an appointment (btw first time in 7 years)
My first phone call was to the client before I even called for a tow truck. I mean how hard is it to figure out what is the right thing to do ???

But it isn't just in this business. It seems in many walks of life people don't do the right thing.

My car will be going into the shop at the end of the month.
So I called the rental car company to give them a heads up regarding the rental and how many days I will need a rental car.

The guy at the rental place kept saying to me - Wow you made my day.You are my hero !!
I am like HUH ??? I am just calling to let you know I will be needing a rental car. not a big deal. my common sense said it is probably best if I can let you know in advance. right ?

he says- you don't understand people never do that. They just come in last minute and stress the hell out of me.I so much appreciate your action. I only wish more people would be like you.

I was just shocked. I mean ok sometimes people need a rental car last minute. They didn't know ahead of time. But if they did know ahead a time why is it so hard to pick up the phone and make a reservation ???

Well nice to know I could add a smile to someone's day ;-)
If he only knew what I could do in person ..  LOL LOL LOL

...and courtesy, life becomes sooooo much easier.

Remember, in all walks of life, whether in business or personal, we all have limitation that prevent us from doing things we know maybe we should be doing that we don't.   The key is knowing where these limit lie so we don't have expectations from others that they're not capable of achieving.  Although, you'd think common courtesy should be pretty basic...but it's not.

Good Point Cindy. Flakes are horrible and never should be given a second chance, even a gentlemen too. It went well across
