Yup,. Today we had a 4.07 earthquake in vegas . Who felt the shake?  

Indeed LaRue.   I was on the 51st floor of Wynn when it hit that evening, well after the sun set.  I think it was the 4th of July weekend.  It shook pretty good for about 30 seconds but the unnerving part was all the noise it made for about a minute after the building stopped swaying - I think it was probably the ducting in the AC system.  IIRC, there was also a much smaller quake that same day, mid-afternoon.  I was in the pool and I remember some people kind of freaking out but I never felt a thing.

I remember the 2019 quake. I had just purchased a penthouse in one of the high rises adjacent to the Strip for weekends and vacations. First time I had ever lived up high (28 floors) in my life. I had been in the place for maybe a month when that quake hit. The building shook like a mofo! The floor to ceiling glass windows and sliders shook so hard I thought they might explode. My furniture slid all over the travertine floors. All of the hanging art shifted at weird angles. I ran to the doorway like I was taught when I was a kid and prayed that the building didn't collapse. What's worse, after the all clear the elevators were shut down until it was confirmed that they weren't damaged. I think it was a few hours before the all clear. Damn, I'm from SoCal and I never knew Vegas had earthquakes.

And yes there was a pretty good aftershock either later that night or the next day.

Luckily, between 2019 and when I sold the place in 2024 there were no more quakes.

I have never felt an earthquake and I've always wanted to, but of course I'm out of town when it happens!! Dang it!!

I felt it while sitting on the couch. Last just a couple of seconds.

Remember both during 2019. Was crashing at the Cosmo during the main one during the day. Felt the building sway a little. Was at a Cirque show when the after shock hit. Show stopped. All performers jumped in the water and they evacuated the theater.  Remember on the cab back the streets and sidewalks were full of people who ran out of hotels but weren’t going back in.

It definitely moved for me!! I heard a loud boom then the whole house shook. It woke Red up from her afternoon snooze!
