Thought I would just say hello and introduce myself.  My name is Mike, live in MD, and I'm a complete newbie.  I'm heading out to Las Vegas next week and thought that it might be nice to connect with someone while I'm there.  I'm both excited and incredibly nervous at the prospect ... figure that's about par for the course.

I've been lurking for a couple of days to get the lay of the land.  Thanks for all the fantastic information!  It seems like P411 is the way to get verified, so I'm going to try and get that done before I leave.

Again, thanks to all those that have provided the wealth of information on this site.  If you have any (more) tips for a first timer going to Vegas, please let me know.

If you are applying for P411, do it now, and get VIP on TER now! Next week is very close and many of the great Vegas ladies will need advance time to book and to screen you, especially as a newbie. There are some great ladies in Vegas but Vegas is also notoriously known for having some of the worst scams, bait and switches, upsells and robs too, and tourists are ripe for the taking. You must do your homework, and you dont have much time to do it.

Here are some tips:
1) Get VIP here
2) start reading reviews for Vegas and search for what you are looking for as far as looks, rates, and services
3) Complete your P411 application
4) Read the self help center
5) Read back on this newbie board at least ten pages or so
6) Follow BigPapas advice about posting on the Vegas regional board
7) Check out the Vegas ad board
8) Once you are certified on P411, search their site for newbie friendly gals
9) stay away from casino girls, card flippers, rolling billboards, escort flyers, and Backpage,  
10) Stay away from agencies in Vegas (with the exception of LV100proof)
11) Save your gambling for the tables and machines, not for the hobby
12) Have fun

Do a search on this board for "newbie friendly"  I've posted one resulting thread below.  In addition to those gals, Cindy Spice is also newbie friendly.  In fact, P411, which also needs time to check you out,  has quite a list of newbie friendly gals....but that does NOT mean they don't screen!  They just have alternative methods.  

But get busy dude!  A week away for an "unknown" is doable, but you've got to do it right!

Thanks for all the great advice.  I'll definitely stay away from agencies, and I've been talking with a newbie friendly provider (Ashley Marie) who is both gorgeous and well-reviewed (from what I can tell).  I'm having a bit of a problem with paying for online services discreetly, as my gift cards don't seem to work for TER VIP, but I'll try and figure something out.

Ashley Marie is a wonderful gal - lovely, friendly, and very.. uh.. accommodating. She's a sweetheart to me and I recommend.

You got good advice from all these folks who replied, so come out to Vegas and have a great time. Just make sure you stick to your good plans and don't go for some hustle in the casino bar. If you found the gal for you, there's still excellent advice in PerfectStorm's items 9-13.
