Saturday night, three (count'em, 3) girls from Spearmint, none of whom know each other, called me up begging me to come over.

That's an indication right there that they're hurting, one barely knows me, but she lives close to me. I did, but it was busy and didn't see any of them. I ended up holding office hours at Drai's, at the usual time of 5am-7am. Two ladies from CH2, one I've known for years, invited me to join them, but I left them and went home at 7 while they were playing tonsil hockey with each other.

Stripping was an easy $600-$800/night gig last year, it's now a difficult $300-$400 gig for most. A couple of my favorites have made as little as $120, barely making the tip out.

Bar scene is out. $500, CBJ, no DATY, 15-20 minutes, as my first Vietnamese g/f would say, "they dweamin'". I should also point out that your average bar girl has a few partners as well...bartenders, security guards, the occasional bell captain, and most play to take the heat off of them, which makes the casino a partner as well. Whenever a bar girl approaches me, I am usually successful in discouraging a sales pitch. I tell them I'm cheap (like $300 is cheap?) and demanding, and maybe they'd be better off finding some guy from Omaha who'd be thrilled to have intercourse with them for $30 a minute.

I think there are some great local escorts, and perhaps they understand my position, I understand theirs as well. It's not so much the rate with the majority, its the attitude that you're more a trick than a client.

As for the strip clubs, I had a feeling the heat is on, it seems like that this time of year. Spearmint offers a "mini-VIP" area, 3 songs for $100 (although you can negotiate an extra song for free with many), "behind the glass". Usually this area is given the most percursory of looks by SRLV management once a song. The area was being checked three times during each song, never saw anything like it.

With the escort in question, perhaps she has so much business right now that she doesn't need guys like me who are in town 180 days a year and get horny often. What's unfortunate is that the incident hasn't changed my attitudes any about the local ladies, and I really was looking to give it a fair shake. I ammore convinced than ever recruiting your own private stock is the way to go if you live here.

Note for Pappasan: Using the PN handle sometimes has caused me a lot of grief. There are many escorts that I'm not popular with, and I'd prefer not to deal with their drama. My own drama is tough enough as it is!

This afternoon I got rejected by one of the MGM 5, she wouldn't give a reason. I went through her screening process (which is another reason why these things are intellectually dishonest in nature). I wasn't even given the courtesy of a phone conversation. I used as a referral the co-owner of one of the websites in which she advertises on. I spoke to the referral about this, but she was of little help as the escort decided not to contact her. I really have no hard feelings towards the escort at all, but I do wonder about her decision making processes.

This experience has only strengthened my resolve and my argument not to see anyone who works in Vegas, except, maybe, the 3 strippers, all from three different clubs, who gave me their phone numbers in the last couple of weeks. Two offer escort for their regular lap dance customers, and one is a p/t escort. Their rate quotes were more in line with LA rather than Vegas prices.

I'm a fairly honorable client, and I'm tired of dealing with tourist rates, tourist service, general paranoia. As it is, there are maybe only 6-7 of you that I'd be interested in, and some of those work LA as well. It is just another brick in the wall, but it's going to be my last one. Better to spend the money at Drai's!

Remembering the MGM, it is a 3000 or so room hotel, and I'm wondering, how much in dollar terms, commerce is transacted in a random 24 hour period there? I'm guessing at least $10K/day. Remember, you have bar girls, escorts, strippers, agencies all competing with your time. Anyone have any other ideas?

A final word about the bust-it is not just the greedy casinos (one MGM Mirage senior host once noted to me, with a straight face, that "the only reason we let the girls in [5* Strip Resort famous for overrated restaurants] is because the players seem to want to have them around." ), but also the brothels who are not without political clout in Clark County as well. And don't forget the unions, too, since it will almost certainly be a Teamster driving you to Pahrump from the Strip and getting his commission on top of his driver fee (although some will waive the fee depending on how much you spend). Vegas is totally about money extraction if you're a tourist.

Sorry for the late response. I've been working on other projects and spending time away from the boards.

I'm fortunate not to have problems getting verified. I did run into some problems with some bar girls not seeing locals. Maybe it was for the better.

I have noticed in the bar scene a huge influx of new girls coming in mainly from Oregon, Washington, and Ohio. Most think they'll get tourist rates, (500 per hour..err I mean pop - more like 15 mins). But most are starving. Moreover, Metro is making it very difficult to work the strip bars.

Nevertheless, rates are rates... The ladies are going to charge what the market will bear and I would do the same thing if I was in the biz. As a client, sure I like to pay less. It's like that in any business.

As for revenue, my estimate (conservative) is that in Vegas, people spend 500-600 million for adult entertainment (strip clubs, escorts, bar girls, agencies, swing clubs...etc... etc...) It's one of the reasons why I think the casinos are allowing Metro Vice have a free reign cracking down on the bar girls - the profit margins are getting thin and they think they'll recover some of it from the working girls.

Screening process? = Randon selection IMO.

I agree with you 100% about Las Vegas. With one exception, there is something seriously wrong there.
