Went to Gama the other night and loved the place. I was pretty much the only person there thanks to Covid but it’s a really nice place and I hope they can weather the storm till things get back to normal. I am planning on making it one of my go-to bars to hang out at since I recently moved in down the street.

Food is pretty good. Choong Man is still the chi-maek king for me though. Their chicken is just unrivaled, goddamn.

What is (or are) your favorite Korean restaurant(s) in the area? KBBQ or just standard Korean Restaurants. Always looking for new recommendations, have gotten a couple really good ones from kgirls during pillowtalk time.

I'll start - Sorak Garden, Yechon, Gom Shabu Shabu, Kogiya for KBBQ

Korean Chicken - Gotta be Choong Man in Annandale.

Any interest in a NOVA M&G, minus the ladies? LOL. I think it would be cool as fuck to break bread with my fellow NOVA Kgirl lovers post-Covid.

Cheers!

in the middle of Vienna (same complex as the Panera on Maple Ave -- just closer to the gas station on the corner of Center and Maple -- that I've had some good meals at. Only been there a few times but I the ratio of Koreans to non-Korean seems like it's about 10:1. Maru Korean Cuisine and Sushi.

While I have not been there a new place opened up in Merrifield recently, Gama, that looks like it might be good. Again, when I've driven by and can see anyone in it they always seem to be Korean, or at least Asian and for this area that generally means Korean.

FYI, many Japanese restaurants may be owned and operated by Koreans.  True here in SoCal.

Pork belly at Nakwon has always been great.

I’m gonna be honest the quality of korean food we have available doesn’t come anywhere close to LA and thus doesn’t come close to anything from Korea. From my experiences with dates or anything of the like the better places are in Annandale and majority look like hole in the wall establishments but the food is the best available. I honestly don’t think i’ve ever picked myself which place to go to so I couldn’t tell you the names.

my go-to place WooLaeOak closed door last year b4 covid19, used to be there every friday night enjoying soju :(

Unrelated to OP — I used to go to Woo Lae Oak, but before it was a Korean place. It used to be one of the premiere steakhouses in the area that, IMHO, rivaled any in DC at that time.
