The independents have it ok (and by independent I mean white) but their clients are shy.
If you're POC, particularly Asian, it's assumed by the general public that you're trafficked, that is what awareness has produced. It's ironic watching a thin-lipped, pasty-white prosecutor telling an Asian sex worker who is driving a BMW, walking in Jimmy Choo shoes for casual wear, and wearing designer outfits and Gucci sunglasses that they are the product/victim of patriarchy and that they need to be saved.

The documentarian throughout the film makes his presence known (which is a sin in documentary films) when he jumps in front of the camera to angrily express his outrage over the objectification of women several times.
It's a great example of the white savior mentality currently in Seattle with regards to sex work. It's rampant throughout the criminal justice system and greased by the money given to rescue organizations whose main activities are advocacy (i.e., more laws, more incarcerations), awareness campaigns (i.e., xenophobia), and pearl clutching (sex, how disgusting!). The underlying socio-economic issues, mental health issues, male sex-workers, or labor trafficking are rarely discussed or given any attention.
Everyone stay happy in CA. Seattle is cold and the sanctimonious rain has been constant.
