Why is it so difficult to get bookers to accept out of town customers with legitimate out of town references?  They don't even answer the phone as if they are above that menial task.  I sure wish I could come to a city and be treated with some respect (as I treat others).  Guess my cash isn't green enough for LA....WTH!

"Perseverance + Patience + Persistence = Success"

Of course, "perserverance" and "persistence" are the same thing so you only need perserverance and patience.

The link has info you may find helpful.

It's not just out-of-town, it's new customers in general, whether you're from LA or not. Bookers for established and/or popular providers may not be accepting new customers, as the providers don't want any more customers or don't want to try new customers who they may not like. It is easier and less work for bookers to just schedule known customers rather than go through the trouble of screening a new customer, especially if there isn't a strong push from the provider. Bookers may also only accept known customers for new providers so that they can be "broken in" with "friendly" customers (who will treat them well and write "good" reviews).
I don't have an answer for your dilemma. Just keep trying.

A sagely reply as well . . .
