The normal 2 references will not cut it. Why..... well, because they know that their hourly rates are generally cheaper than comparable indy gals in the area. Plus they have huge demand for their "product". Just do what they ask, and if you think it's too intrusive, then pay more for an indy willing to take your two references.
I've never used an Asian agency, and haven't seen anyone, Asian or otherwise, since March 2020. Before Covid it was very difficult to get DC area Asian agencies to respond to new client requests. Is that still the case today? If so, are there agencies that operate in the DC/Baltimore area now that are less likely to respond with radio silence to a new client request? It is much easier now to get dates with Asian agencies in the DMV than it used to be. International travel is now reopened and there are a number of new agencies in the DMV. You shouldn't have much more difficulty with Asian agencies than other agencies in the area than you would with any other agency or independent. That said, the first one is likely to be the hardest, but they talk to each other and subsequent dates will get approval quickly using the first agency as a reference. Some of the gals who are born in Korea or elsewhere in E and SE Asia and now live in the US switch agencies, and they can be references themselves.
