There is another Electric Stimulator available, TENS.  

Originally, the TENS was designed to help alleviate chronic pain by sending electric stimulations that specific part of the body.

Well!  That's one way of using it.  The TENS machine these days are also used as sexual stimulants, and are very popular with couples that are creative/kinky, and in the BDSM scene.  

There is a lot of literature out there as to how TENs can be used as a catalyst to help stimulate and create a sense of adventure in one's personal life, with a provider, etc.
