Costa Mesa, from my experience is mostly rip-offs. Irvine I know nothing of. Normally I would suggest the Fullerton/Yorba Linda area, but with the Convention in town in August, LE is watching everything.If you can't wait a few weeks, then I would say make the drive to the Central Coast area and relax.
