ISO good hotel in singapore...in strategic location.

im going on a pleasure trip to singapore and bali, and would like some advice on where to stay...  i heard somewhere near orchard towers is good, but im afraid to pick a dump, but would like to be close to the action....

willing to spend about $100-$200/night

if any of you know any good places in bali as well..that would be nice.
