I said that I was self-employed which I am and that I get paid in cash and I deposited into my bank account so can I show my babk statement for the past 3 months? And they accepted that. There is a check stub maker online if you just Google make a check stub at one point I did have to make check stubs that coincided with the days that I deposited cash and I made it all match. Some people may accept that depending on how strict they are. If it was me I would not mention the poor thing because it may give them the wrong impression and people are so judgemental. When applying for something else I also use my tax returns because I do my taxes as self-employed as well and that was accepted so you may be able to ask about that as well. Good luck! Believe me I know the struggle I had a hard time with it a while back.

I'm sorry this is happening frequently to you!  
I just recently was in the same scenario for another issue, and it is so worrisome!
It is indeed always our plight, in not being able to substantiate an income for
your dilemma, as well as in purchasing goods and services which require
financing.

Perhaps we should all join together and create a D.B.A. simply for purposes
of using the business entity for this very much needed niche?

This doesn't happen frequently. That's why I don't know how to do it yet. I lived in the same house for six years and then I moved into this house which is really not acceptable and I'm not going to be staying in it.

You guys are right!  In the past I've always had somebody with their own business say that they have hired me and then I have my bank statements to show my income. It wasn't hard to find on the local site which is now gone.

But I don't need somebody with a business to say that they've hired me, do I?  Especially if there is a program online that prints up paycheck stubs. I did not know that. That's great. I can show my income and I can create a website of some sort saying that I do something. Now I just have to think of what I could do to make this kind of money.
 
 I was thinking of maybe photography and/or even painting. Maybe I could take some painting classes and put some  paintings online and then I could pay taxes on a legitimate income as long as they don't look too closely. Or, as a registered nurse I could be providing one on one care to individuals who need a higher level of care and that could possibly earn me this kind of money.
