I am leaving for Brazil soon for the World Cup.
Will be in Rio for the matches and a resort town 2 hrs north otherwise.  I will be primarily with family, but am hoping to get away for a bit of "me" time.
Any suggestions?

I love Brazil. I have no suggestions other than post on a board somewhere (maybe here in the other cities section). Not sure if you're Brazilian or not, if you are you'll know the following: Don't wear jewelry or carry anything valuable on the streets of Rio! Not even the locals do that. Carry some mug money just in case. Drink as many fresh fruit smoothies with fresh acai as you can! They're on every street corner. Have a caipirinha and a mixto sandwich for me!!
