I don't have specific hotels but I would suggest hotels in the Westshore area of Tampa. It's pretty centrally located for all of the various around Tampa Bay.

The Double Tree in N Naples is a popular spot. Gives reasonable access from Naples, Bonita and Ft Myers. Would love it if you stopped in Ft Myers.. Safe travels..

You want to be in the Downtown Tampa area. That's where everything is happening these days. Westshore is good too but hotels are better (also more $$) downtown. Good luck and have fun! Maybe check out the Pirate Water Taxi if  you're interested in seeing downtown Tampa and Seminole Heights from the water. Trust a former Tampanian - the water taxi is good!
