Could I ask a really stupid question BUTT, if the hobby costs money and most people with earning potential have to keep their job and work a 8-5 Mon. to Fri. job, why are the Meet & Greets always on a work night when if on a Saturday a man could travel and get to it and then stay out late. Sorry for the frustration but not everyone has weekend family concerns thats in the hobby ?
For some reason, its always proven to be more successful for a M&G to be done on a weeknight vs weekend.
1 reason that has been presented is for guys who have families at home, its easier to claim a work function till a certain time and they will be late, rather then getting away on a weekend for a bit.
Another reason is the exact same for the ladies, weekends may be more reserved for family time.
While M&G's are fun, lets not forget its a chance for the ladies to meet potential new clients, but also, for the guys to put real ladies to the wonderful posts and photos they let us view of them every week.
I am sure there are several others who have comments on this as well, I just wanted to answer a couple of them for you.
Ease of getting away during the week due to families has been the main reason for weeknight parties in the past. While it's true many hobbyists, like apparently yourself, are not married (I'm not either), many are and have family stuff to do on weekends, like keeping the wife happy for ONE.
It bothered me too. I would much prefer a weekend but that's it in a nutshell.
I too would prefer a Sat evening (or even a Fri night), but as you mentioned many have families and can make an excuse to get home late on a weeknight. At least they are most often on a Thursday so that those of us who might make a long distance visit can make it a long weekend.
Which are always held on week-ends...if you FL folk don't mind us snowbirds flying down, and joining the fun... weeknights in May may work, but w/e's allow us out of towners/staters to likely attend. If you want to have a really great M&G....you should be encouraging us from other states to fly down there, and join in the fun!
I have a career during the week and would prefer the weekend, too, but I'll be there....I'm looking forward to finally meeting the great Florida people, who have helped me get started in this business..
