First and foremost...to those that already know the situation...please forgive me for the duplicate.
Well here is pretty much what happened….I went to NY in Dec. and while there came down with strep throat. Yes I got antibiotics and made it home safely. 2 days later I was in the ER dehydrated due to the stomach flu…little did I know what I was soon going to be up against.
The next day my mom fell (most of you know I am her caregiver) and got staples in her head. Needless to say since I was ill I could not tend to her which tore me up inside. Then the same day I was getting sharp pain behind my right eye and it was traveling to the right side of my brain. I contacted my doctor and all week we tried different things to no avail. That coming Monday…Dec. 22, I had to take my mom to the doctor to get her staples out and knew it was my turn. After bringing her to my home for the holidays and settling her in I was at the ER…Well sure enough after a cat scan I was told I had a very bad sinus infection (really I was clueless!!!) that went behind my right eye, cordial nerve area and traveled to my right side of my brain. Sadly, I spent all of the holiday in the hospital.
Thankfully I did not wait any longer as I would have been having major (brain) surgery. I did have sinus surgery and that was a success...but I did have other complications that took a while for them to get all sorted out and tons…and I mean tons of antibiotics!!! With the infection being on my cordial nerve area I may have vision loss in the right eye however this may take time to find out. Thankfully at this time I am not having any vision problems and I will continue to keep my head high and pray for the best!! The great news is my spirits were and are very high and I am very positive. The hospital staff just loved me and I had them cracking up….plus I was hitting on a male nurse. Guess I was going stir crazy….haha.. After 16 days I finally was well enough to go home, however for the next 6 days I had to go to the hospital and have antibiotics in my iv (yepper it was still in my arm). Now the IV is out of my arm and all antibiotics are done!!!
Since my release I have had 2 dr. appts. And they are happy with my progress. The best part is I am now back after my little hiatus…which was not fun.
Another best part of all this truly has been my spirit, strength and the huge blessings I have received. I have never known how much I have been loved by soo many people. I was swamped with emails, calls, texts, thoughts and prayers. I have never been soo grateful to all those that reached out to me and the donations.
To my best friend of all time…Sindie Symons…I know I have said this in person to you many times but again thank you for all that you did for me. Not only did Sindie answer my emails for me for awhile but she helped set up a fund for me and helped coordinate a few collections for me in my time of need to keep me afloat.
**Sindie you are my angel…a true example of a friend who stands by those that she loves!! You have a heart of gold and I will be forever grateful to you. The things you have done for me during this crazy month has touched my heart beyond anything I can state. I will always be grateful for meeting you 7 yrs. ago and for the friendship that we have developed over the years.**
Please everyone take your health seriously. I pride myself on being generally healthy and this caught me off guard as I was caring for my mom and neglecting me. Do not allow that to happen. Put yourself first and everything else will fall into place. I have learned some hard lessons with all this and so have my friends. I have said this whole time that I would go through this again if it means I can help one person realize to put themselves first.
Love you all again…thank you!!! I have the best friends in the world!!!
Now let's play...
