It was to just post the lamest excuse you've heard.
Have a great weekend.

When a hobbyists OR Provider has given you because they couldn't make the scheduled appointment?
This one by far is the most unbelievable excuse I've ever had. So much I wanted to share.
"Urghhh. I hate to cancel but my sister just went into labor. Normally I wouldn't care but it's her first child. She is three weeks early. I'm thinking false labor."
( what? was he going to help his sister push out the baby?) LoL
Why not share yours? Ofcourse don't include the persons name. Just the excuse.
Have a great weekend. See you Saturday!

Very nice lady cancelled five days in advance because her grandmother died...she even sent a nice e-mail followup about progress on the arrangements a couple of days later. The next week, talking to a fellow hobbyist, I commented on how hard she was taking it. His response -- "hmmm, her grandmother died on me in January..."
You can actually have two grandmothers, making the excuse unlikely, but not impossible. ![]()

... but that sounds completely plausible to me. I probably wouldn't cancel an appointment if my sister called me at the last minute, but I'm not extremely close with her either. However, if I wasn't doing anything I would definitely be at the hospital with the rest of my family. I have to figure people much closer to their siblings then I am would cancel just about anything to be there for that event.
I havn't ever been given a really lame excuse. Miraculously, I've only been canceled on by 2 seperate ladies although one of those has rescheduled multiple times. I didn't necessarily believe all of her excuses, but none of them were outrageous either and none of them were last minute so I didn't really care. The other lady was a touring provider and canceled her trip.

I got that very same excuse in April!!! It was a last minute cancellation, his sister was three weeks early, first child! Geez, I can't help but wonder if it's the same guy?! lol

...than a no-show!!
hey, life happens to ALL of us. everyone has to cancel (or reschedule) some time or another. sometimes it's at the last minute, and that sucks - i'm not going to lie. but it happens. as long as there's the courtesy of a phone call/email/text and a sincere apology, i can't really complain. no lame excuse required!
there IS one exception: on occasion i've caught guys double booking with the intent of canceling one lady or the other at the last minute; now, THAT is just not right!
i will absolutely forgive a man when something comes up and messes up our plans, but i don't look kindly on anyone who willfully and intentionally wastes my time for his own gain. GRRRRR.
All you seasoned folk please don't laugh at me for being so naive about the hobby back then, but...
My first attempt to see a provider was when I was 19 years old. I was looking to lose my virginity and was too shy to find a civie girl. I lived with my parents at that time and they were on vacation, leaving me alone. So I called an agency and wanted to try and make sure I was getting what I thought I was getting -- but on the phone when I asked them straight out if I could have sex with the girl they were sending, they would only say "I can't say that. But I can say that you will be extremely happy with her".
Now I would understand that, but back then I had no clue.
So she came to my house. Apparently she was also a new provider. We sat and talked for a minute, and she told me that she wanted to know what I wanted to do. So I asked her if she wanted to have sex. She pondered it for quite some time in silence. Then she asked to use the phone and called back into the service and told them that I came right out and stated what I wanted and she didn't know what to do. While she was asking the service questions, I just blurted out something like:
"Ok, this isn't working out. I want you to leave now".
I was such a dumbass back then that I didn't even offer her $50 for coming out. She must have really been new, because she apologized and left and didn't even ASK for anything for coming out.
So yeah, looking back on it, I was a lame ass who didn't know what the hell I was doing.
She was able to grasp and take control of the situation for the next meet.
Figuring out that you had friends with bonds they could cash in probably didn't hurt.
Just a shame you ended up losing the Porsche in the lake, then having to deal with Guido the 'killer pimp'.
Then there was mom finding the crack in the egg. Not good.
But at least in the end, "Princeton can use a guy like Joel".
Ok, now that's some funny shit right there.
And I didn't end up losing my virginity for FOUR MORE YEARS! It was still with a pro, though... but in Pahrump, NV.

hmmmnnn.....had a date all set, many moons ago, communicating back and forth all day long.
Then it happened.....
1) I have a surprise for you
2) Surprise
3) Surprise
4) Surprise
5) Then a knock on the door, wasn't what I was expecting.
So, send an unwanted replacement and it's supposed to be OK because you are not responsible and incapacitated.....LAME!
Pull that like of lame crap on someone else, there are plenty of suckers out there.....blatant disrespect........
Get another line of work, really......lol!

Was no excuse at all. Last December and January, I had a number of back and forth's with a relatively new and hot lady, which culminated in a planned mid-week visit to her place. Less than two hrs. before, I called her to make the final confirmation, and she gave me the hotel in NYC she was staying at, which is one I have great memories at with my favorite FL friend, in particular, the afterparty after the 2011 Spring Mixer. Well, after I got off the phone, I showered, shaved, checked for texts as I left for the NYC, which was clear. 45 minutes later, as I was parking and making the phone call for her room #, I saw the text message icon flashing...it was from her, cancelling about a half hour before we were supposed to meet. She sent an e-mail also, but what difference did it make? I was left standing out in the cold, with no Plan B...or, so I thought...
When I got home, I saw that I had received another e-mail from a friend from the West Coast. I had told her was I was not going to Vegas that week-end, as work didn't allow that, and though I had been toying with it, it was always a long shot. Her response was that she was going to be in Vegas regardless, lamenting I was not able to go, and that she would miss seeing me. Reading that, I said the hell with it, went into Expedia, and saw that I still could book the trip at a price that I could live with. Sent her text to let her know my plans had changed...she responded in less than five minutes, and...
Looking back, I am damned glad I went to Vegas that week-end! As for the lady that stood me up...she still visits NYC regularly, but I heard from a fellow hobbyist friend afterward that I was not the only one who got cancelled on last minute. Needless to say, she is no longer a must-see...
In the past, excuses have included being thrown out of the hotel because staff there suspected her (believable, and later confirmed as true), and another that pulled a NCNS claiming that she had fallen and suffered a concussion the afternoon of. Normally, that excuse would be considered a crock, but in her case...
After several email exchanges I had one who cancelled telling me her mother suprised her and just suddenly arrived at the airport.
Yeah, right. Who's mother is going to hop on a plane and suddenly show up at an airport without advance notice? My mom would have sent me her itinerary weeks in advance to make sure my schedule was clear and that she would not be waiting at the curb for a ride. You have to come up with somethig better than that.
