A few months ago I thought about doing something special for my birthday. I acquired a TER handle and paid for VIP but have never posted before now. I looked into services like Date Check and P411 and learned that all they could do for a retired widower like me is verify name, address, home phone number listing. Since I have nothing to hide I thought disclosing my personal information along with a current photo to a carefully selected provider would be enough.
My birthday came and went with no reply and then the provider E-Mailed me saying her computer had been down and was I still interested? I sure was. A couple of E-Mails later we set a date and then she asked for a provider reference which of course I did not have. I suggested since I was dropping some friends off at the Tampa Airport in the morning in a couple of days we at least meet noon at the airport near Starbucks for about an hour at her regular rate just to talk and get to know one another. No reply. I was already at the airport that morning so I went to Starbucks a little past noon and waited for about an hour to no avail. I E-Mailed once more say I was disappointed but not angry and wished her well. There was no reply and I really did not expect one.
Then this morning while perusing TER and please do not LOL I discovered that PM meant private message and not phone message as I thought. So I sent the provider a PM asking if my TER VIP membership would help her to evaluate me and received an immediate reply saying not really and if I still wanted to get together with her a provider reference is required. Well she has not closed the door completely as I thought and her cautious nature does make me want to see her even more.
It also occurs to me that the deck is really stacked in favor of the TER guys. We get to pick and choose from all these reviews but the women believe they have no other way to evaluate us other than another provider reference. If I do not have one how do I get one? Does anyone have any suggestions?
use an agency, Miami companion or perfect 10, they are very nice, i personally requested reference few times and they helped me. then after using the agency contact the lady and give her their number to check your info.
or some ladies they will accept a deposit if you don't have reference. good luck

Thank you. I looked at the verification site sample questionaire and in my initial e-mail to the lady I disclosed all of the information that the questionaire asked for. My full name, address, home and cell number and the fact that I am listed in the phone book. She did reply back and forth and at the very end asked for a provider reference that I can not supply at this time. That is her right and I do not fault her for it. I was surprised that she would not meet with me in a public place at her standard rate just so we could try to get to know one another. On the other hand perhaps she was simply being honest enough to not take my money when she knew she would not break her rules.
After I discovered the PM feature she replied immediately leaving the door open. She is well reviewed and a frequent poster on this board. I understand her concerns after all I would not even think of seeing a provider who was not well reviewed on TER and what's good for the goose should be good for the gander.
You could always try finding a different provider who will screen without a referrence and who is willing to be a referrence for you. Then you would have a referrence for your favorite lady.
