...many years ago, there never were ad boards. That is actually fairly new. TER relied on regional discussion boards. Everyone participated. You were able to get a glimpse of personalities of everyone through their participation in the discussion.  

And now you can't access this site from a US-based IP.

signing on is easy, there are multiple add ons for Chrome Opera etc that mask your origin. the more important question is will we use them so we can continue to use TER. My guess, no. The only thing for certain is the game just changed for all parties.

Agreed, but Opera's built-in VPN leaks your IP address now and then, so I wouldn't use it for privacy, just for outside U.S. servers.
I prefer PIA (Private Internet Access), NordVPN and PRQ.  Sitting pretty from a "Canadian" server right now.
But yes, that's a quick and easy fix, for sure.
