To Florida from San Diego I suggest a plane. From Florida to the Bahamas I took a plane for convenience and time. However, a boat to there could be exciting if you haven't boated much. Or once you get there, go for a shorter boat excursion such as a sunset cruise which is fun and pretty. Also, you could have dinner on the sunset cruise to complete the experience.
