For those that know Makenzie Rae know that she has the kindest soul! Makenzie has become very ill and has been hospitalized since Christmas Eve, they still don't her exact diagnosis, it's like a puzzle they are trying to figure out.

What started out as a normal sore throat turned into a flu which turned into a migraine that lasted 6 days, during the migraine stage her eye became very swollen which led her to the ER due to the pain she was enduring. An immediate MRI was done and Makenzie was informed there was a possibility of an infection on her brain.

Thankfully, all the prayers from her friends and family were answered... the infection is not on her brain. Sadly, the infection is on her optical nerve and she will have to undergo surgery early next week on her eye and may lose her eye sight for good. The recovery time will be anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how her body reacts. At this time she is stable and is on several antibiotics to kill the infection.

Let's all take a moment and say a prayer that Makenzie will have no complications from here on out and that she will have a very speedy recovery. If anyone would like to keep up with her status and healing process you can email me directly at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Sindie

Bed. Makenzie Will be fine with all the modern medical technology out there doctors can perform miracles. She must go into surgery fully believing in the power of The Lord and the whole Universe the result will be what she wants. It is nice to see something rare on this board everyone coming out of their shell and pulling for someone, this is nice and when some body posts on the behalf of a fellow sister that should be commended whether it is good news or bad...

Just returned last night from Finland and this was the first post I read this morning.    Wish I can send her flowers of goodwill.     Reading Sindie's detailed description it appears like an attack of neuropathy than an infection.     Just a guess as I am not a Doctor.

hank you very much for updating & keeping us posted.
It must of been hard for you to write in this difficult matter.
Makenzie your STRONG You Can Fight This!

Thank you for letting us know Sindie. Keep us posted. MaKenzie get well soon!

Big Hugs,
Ms. Jade

I spoke with Makenzie this morning, she is being transported to another hospital tomorrow evening and is scheduled to have surgery on Sunday instead of Monday. She will then return to the hospital she is presently at on Monday or Tuesday to undergo another round of antibiotics for another 3 to 4 days which means she will be spending yet another holiday in the hospital.

I have decided to set up an account to help her with her financial obligations in her time of need. If anyone would like to contribute please email me for details.

Sincerely,
Sindie

Surgery is scheduled for 9 am tomorrow morning, I will update when Makenzie is out of surgery.
Everyone please say a prayer.

Sincerely,
Sindie

and came straight to the board. Said a prayer as I realized she would be in surgery now. Had the pleasure of meeting her at several of the M&G's, she is a fine lady and sweet person. Anxiously awaiting updates

I will keep her in my prayers at this time for a full and speedy recovery. Also, I will pray for her loved ones for strength and support at this time. What an awful situation. Every day is precious and we take so much for granted. It is tragedies like this that make us stop and realize just how fragile and precious life is. Please keep us posted and send her well wishes. Thank YOU for updating us.

Prayers~
Toni (& Big Keezy, too!

Makenzie is doing very well. Her healing process will take time of course but her spirits are extremely high and she is feeling so much better already. There is a bit of bad news, her white blood count is high at 27K, normal should be 14K, which is being watched very closely. Makenzie wanted me to tell everyone how much she appreciates all the love and support she has received in her time in need, you all mean so much to her!

Now lets all take a moment... if you have loved ones you aren't speaking with you should reach out and mend your differences, even though you may be mad as hell at them you never know what life has in store for you or them and you will regret for the rest of your life if you didn't take the time to do so.

As I stated in a previous post, I have opened an account in Makenzie's behalf. If anyone is interested in donating email me @ [email protected] for details, every little bit does help.

Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart!

Sincerely,
Sindie

her spirits are high and she sounds great. She is still in the hospital being monitored. In 3-6 months time she will know if she has any permanent damage.

I know being in the hospital on the holidays suck, but your health is more important.  Try to have a happy new year girlie... we are praying for you!

I'm so sorry to learn of Makenzie's news.  I recently helped her with a different matter and came to know her spirit and how she cares for others.  My prayers are indeed with her for a quick recovery.

So sorry to hear Makenzie.. I will keep you in my thoughts.  As well as the wonderful evening we had for your birthday in Boston..
