I came here for school, but that was just an excuse...I have ALWAYS wanted to live in Florida :-) Having grown up at the shore, I am happiest near the ocean (nonwithstanding some great times in NYC, I have always considered myself a beach person). I visited the area for the first time last winter (Jupiter and Palm Beach), and fell in love.

I was attracted to Florida because I could enjoy beautiful weather year-round. Here, I don't get stuck inside the house for three days because municipal workers go on strike and the plows don't come, and I don't have to run on a treadmill because all of the roads, sidewalks, and boardwalks in my area are covered by ice and snow.

I have an addiction to the beach, and to all sports involving the ocean...swimming, beach runs, kite-surfing, surfing, paddling, sailing, you name it. Nothing makes me feel like a barefoot run on the beach, splashing through the surf right at the water's edge. Much better than the West Side Highway in NYC - granted, it's an interesting experience to run through the Midtown Manhattan waterfront, but it lacked the spiritual/holistic element that makes exercise so pleasurable for me.

I enjoy the beach, trips to Miami, drives up A1A, the many excellent places to eat, and exploring in general...even just taking a walk, and enjoying the fact that I can soak up the sun in mid-February :-) I love the area's natural parks, and am dying to see the Everglades. I'd also like to take a trip to the Bahamas.

I moved from Hawaii and stayed in Florida becasue of the warm weather mostly, and the beaches. I enjoy all hobbies of the great outdoors & indoors. Fishing, boating, nude sun bathing, snokeling, scuba diving. Great new restaurants and bars to visit. :)

Fun Fun Fun.

I have been in Florida for quite sometime and I love the weather (although it does get a little too hot & humid in the summer). I always enjoy spending time at Crystal River out on a deck boat and I plan to visit the Space Center one of these days and then a few days in St Augustine.

I was just wondering:  Florida is a big-ass state, and there's sure a lot to do there (ahem...thank you , ladies).  My question: what types of hobbies (this one excepted) to you participate in when you have time on your hands?

Is there some part of Florida you want to visit that you haven't yet?  Are you attracted to the theme parks in central Florida, or the bikini parks on the coasts?  Boating, fishing, diving, flying, driving?  What makes Florida attractive to you?

I moved here from Chicago last year to get away from the snow. Love it so far. I do some sailing, diving, and get to the coast when ever I can. I'm thinking about taking flying lessons and maybe one day, try to join the mile high club.

I like the all around warm weather (I don't wear lots of clothes) and of course the beaches.

There is so much to do but not enough time!

The beaches, boating, fishing, snorkeling, hanging out at beach bars in the sun in my bikini, LUV theme parks. I luv to sail so I participate in the Regattas. Checking out the awesome restaurants, movies, boutique shops. All the cool little arts and crafts festivals. Just everything...and you can do it all year long. Well, pretty much.

Cuz I grew up in fucking upstate NY where it's too cold 6 months of the year, LOL.  But to answer your question: anything outdoors, fishing, boating, and my favorite, Alligator hunting, can't do that in NY.  I love the weather and low taxes here.

It's warm. It doesn't snow. There's no state income tax :-)

Those are just a few. Jax has a great airport to fly out of, I like the people. Everyone here is pretty friendly, and I like being able to say y'all with a straight face. Plus the fried chicken down here is to die for. Oh, and the drive through ice cream.

I personally have lived all over the US, and I am always drawn back to the Sunshine State. Well I was born here so it's "Home Sweet Home"" to me anyway. I love Fla because the weather is usually always nice & warm. Then having Tampa and Orlando so close to each other allows alot of different choices in what you wish to do for fun!

Personally for me Clearwater is very much like Destin, Fl (where I am originally from) so the sandy white beaches and blue/green waters are so beautiful. I love to jet ski, snorkel and water ski the most. Or you can hit Daytona Beach which is on the Atlantic side and catch bike week which is really fun! These guys spend alot of their bikes and it's just fun to watch!

As a woman though, my personal favorite is all the shopping here in Orlando! 3 malls and several outlet malls keep me very busy! There is truly so much to do here it's just a matter of personal preference on what you enjoy doing? I'd say Clearwater Beach Booty Watching!!!LOL I love being around beauty and BOOTY!!! It keeps me on my toes. Best of luck and enjoy FLA!!!
