I think it would be useful for those who have and will read this thread but have not replied to it, including especially nubbies, to know a few facts.
The main fact of interest is that my initial post worked pretty well. I received private messages from two local providers. They expressed a willingness to work withinin my geographic and scheduling restrictions, sent links to their websites, and appear to be quite attractive, sexy, and fun. Unfortunately, timing did not permit me to meet with either of them, but I came close, and now have two girls on my list for the next time I visit Orlando.
The second fact of interest is economics 101. Providers are not driven by reviews. Nor are all Hobbiests. The value of reviews is actually debated on this and other, similar forums. I always get a good response when I put out requests. My paid subscription to TER pays for itself because it allows me to find the kinds of providers I seek, which I can do pretty well on my own in a few emails or phone calls, though reviews can of course be helpful. Many are low volume and operate under the radar and ask me not to post reviews. Others are so well known and well reviewed that when I ask they are indifferent to whether I review them or not since they already have established reputations. Having a career and a family I have limited time for this kind of thing, so I have not been writing reviews.
Third fact is that although connecting Providers and Hobbiests is the main purpose of this kind of forum, it also serves to boost the egos of those who lurk, and take snipes at posts that are not intended for them, in order to boost their self esteem. The images of Beavis and Butthead always come to my mind, if you are old enough to remember them. One of the Providers who private messaged me apologized for the rudeness of a small number of contributors to the Orlando board, but I see this everywhere. I don't mind it but in my opinion it is most appropriate when the reply is either funny, based on fact, or both. Make it entertaining or informative. Just my opinion.
So, do not be discouraged by such reponses to your posts. As you will surely see in this case, the harpies and scolds need to have the last word, and have unlimited free time for such things, so you just have to let it go and make use of the private messages and the more helpful public replies.
