Orlando would be better.

For one, it is centrally located between Tampa to the west, Daytona & Cocoa/Melbourn to the east, Ocala/Gainesville to the North and Miami/Ft Lauderdale to the South.

Plus Orlando is prettier and less congested then Tampa...

I am not positive yet. I am coming in January to look at apartments. I think Tampa/Orlando area. I wouldn't be moving until April. Any suggestions are welcome.

Tampa/Orlando are nice choices, but Ft. Lauderdale has a lot going for it as well.
Close to the Keys, world class beaches, etc.. Always something happening... If you need someone to show you around down here, drop a line! And if you do choose Tampa or Orlando, it is an improvement then the artic conditions of MD this time of year ;)
