An old friend (ex)finally gets there life together after 25yrs  but after one year goes to a dark place and slides backwards. Do you help them n try to talk them back into  doing good or do you stand back and watch them fall?

Yes I have let it go as of 3hrs ago. I haven't seen the ex/friend/baby daddy in 20yrs. Was there cheering him on as he got clean and got his life on track. But now that he is willing to say I'm to blame that he has no family or friends is out of line.. just so he can go back to the streets . So I wash my hands of that drama just like his family has.  Me n his family what's left of them will stay close and wait for the next death notice.  I know not nice to say but it's honest. You can't help ppl who don't want the help.

Isn't this the man who didn't give you a dime of child support for 16 years?  I'm sorry he had such a rough life but other than being the father to your child what redeeming qualities has he brought to your life.  For you to consider helping him when he hasn't helped you one iota is very thoughtful.  However, as others have suggested, you don't owe him anything.  I would move on as you won't be able to save him anyway.

Yes that is correct.. but I have a good heart and hate to see ppl do bad. But gotta let it go .. you can't save or help someone who doesn't want it for themselves
