I recently had a bad experience where my full name was revealed accidentally in an email by a provider I had seen, please don't ask her name.  After that I swore I'd never see a provider that required to know my full name.  Unfortunately, most of the ladies on my Favorites list require that.  What are the thoughts here?  Am I being too paranoid?  I'd appreciate responses from both guys and providers.

what happened and why? Ladies that I've seen aren't very free and easy with client information. I go by my middle name, but my cell phone is in my first name, and when I check into a hotel, my first name is on the registration. So in this case, the lady requesting verification would need the full name. In my humble opinion, I think you're talking about an isolated incident.

im not sure how exactly your name came up but most guys have their own email for hobbying that usually includes a handle rather than their full name. i suggest you create a new email and not to give any personal info unless youre sure of the provider and when you do... insist that the info never be repeated and that you will contact her if another date is desired...

I think you are over reacting.  If a lady wants to verify you are staying at XYZ hotel, she will need you full name in order for the operator to put the call through to your room.  Some ladies use this method prior to going to hotel outcalls as a further safety check.

I never give my full name when booking at appt.  I'll share my first name, and both P411 and Date-Check references, or a reference from another hobbiest I may know.  If that information isnt enough, then I apologize to the lady and I wish her well.  

There is never any hard feelings, as these ladies are protecting their safety, and I respect that. While at the same time, I'm protecting my anonimity to a certain degree.

Hopefully in your case it was an isolated incident.

you are being too paranoid!  I have to agree with JH as this is most likely an isolated incident.
As you stated, many of the ladies require it for screening, and I don't have a problem with it.  Just don't give out a lot of any other type info, and all is cool!  Now take a Xanax, relax, and call the next lady on your list for some fun this weekend  

She sent an email to her client list when she was going to be in my area again to see if there was any interest and she clicked the To button instead of the Bcc button.  She had our emails stored in her contact list as "John Smith" [email protected].  And she caught it right after she sent the email and apologized, but by then it was too late, the email had already gone out to several individuals, so we all know who each other is.

Sounds like you were dealing with an irresponsible provider - which there are no shortage of.  Many that request this information are careful enough with sensitive information for this not to happen.  I don't think it's worth missing out on future good experiences though.

I've never understood why some of the ladies send out those marketing emails?

To me, it doesn't seem professional unless a client specifically asks for that and it borderlines on desperation to me.  How do you guys feel about that practice?

sorry but I don't give out name, work number, work place or any of the other ridiculous stuff asked for "screening".  Unfortunately, Johnny Law is around although not as frequent as before and if Johnny wants ya, he will get you.  As far as the safety of the provider, yes I agree that a provider will want as much info as possible in case something happens to her (such as the Craiglist deal in Mass) but really she is looking more to screen for LEO.  And as I said before, if Johnny wants ya, he will get ya..ask some of the frequent poster/providers in here.  Its a buyer's market and if I don't like what I see/hear/get asked, then I have the option to take a different road.

any risk in this hobby is to NOT hobby.  That reduces your risk factor to zero.
Now judging by your reviews, you have NOT had a lot of fun with the ladies you met, who probably do NO screening. Your chances of getting busted with them is much higher than giving out your name to a "quality" provider!
Your right, It's a buyers market...depending on what you are buying, and it's obvious you shop at a different place than many of us here!
