Well let me ask this. Earlier this week I was asked to provide both my picture ID and work information after she already verified my P411 and TER approvals. Is this a little overboard or would anyone still ask this?

that generally only works in the town you live. When you travel, it is very difficult to get those guys to up info. every time. I am not saying she should change... I never begrudge any provider from doing what she has to do to feel comfortable about this, because is she feels anxious, the date is going to be a bust for both parties.

I think it has to do with perceived vulnerability. Like stated on another link, we have so many secrets as hobbyists, secret cash stash, secret phones to contact you with, lies to explain where we go, secrets to have sex with other people that aren't our SO's, ect.
Then we are confronted with a dilemma to reveal our very lives that we try so hard to protect, when we meet, do you reveal your true identity with a photo ID? Fuck no! Some guys can get hooked up with a psycho bitch too, it may not happen as often as to the ladies, but it could.
Recently I read a very active hobbyists wife found out all about his hobbying, and she was threatening to contact every provider in his phone.
We put a lot of trust, both providers and hobbyists, in strangers we meet, it is still illegal for now. We don't want to lose our livelihood, our jobs and all the rest.
It's perception, I reluctantly give providers my personal info, but I have also passed on many opportunities because I just did not feel comfortable exposing my life for P4P! EO

Certainly understand the need to be safe these days. But there are limits to what information comes out to get verified. My concern is what happens to that info once it's out? God forbid you get picked up with all that info you collected. Then we get another huge bust like the one up north a few years ago.

I am talking about a freaking TER handle, not a social security number! Am I supposed to just see a damn alias with no information? Ha. Ok. If he can't even reveal his TER handle for screening, something is UP. I get protecting your family and work info. but a handle? Next...

I think London's approach is spot on. A girl would be irresponsible to see a client without assuring her safety. Personally I would not give out my personal information so I have a p411 account. I recently changed my TER handle but still have reviews they can see also. If that isn't enough for a provider then I will move on. It only happened to me once.- Allisa Labonne in NY--I was disappointed but did not give the info and did not see her.

Apparently, strict verification is the protocol for independent escorts. How about escorts from agencies? I've never called an agency so I don't know what they ask for if anything.

London, my situation was that i was requested to provide references, work info, and a photo ID. I provided my TER info as well as P411 which has always been enough verification for those that use these services. Asked if that was sufficient and the response was that it only works for references. She still wanted work info and my photo ID. Most providers i have contacted take TER and P411 in lieu of these so i had thought it was a little over cautious. I cannot provide work info as I am self employed with no real way to verify.  Would not want to provide photo ID. The solution she provided was a lunch date so i did not have to send a picture of my ID to them

I think my post was taken as being directed towards a certain poster or the OP, and it was not ha ha. When I said "What do you have to hide, dude" I was speaking of a recent situation I had encountered right after asking for screening info. from a damn alias. All I wanted was the TER handle, which makes me think he was either A. An asshole in his reviews and did not want me to see them, or B. He was an asshole to me, and was trying to book me without me finding out about that.  

Thanks London, all is good! I got my answer. Seems to most the excess screening in my situation was a bit overboard which is what I thought. I'll have to look you up next time I'm in Tampa assuming that I can pass your screening test Have a great day!

I'm brand new here and share alot of the concerns listed above about photo ID etc. But I'm not a member of any of these sites til today with being on this one but that sounds like great advice about the P411 verification once. I look forward to getting that part past me as quite frankly it really worries us guys more than u girls realize. But at the end of the day both parties have to feel comfortable to get the max amt of enjoyment.
