I love the feel of baby-smooth "boys" on my tongue. I also don't have to worry about flossing my teeth afterwards! 
Seriously, though: I have many clients who shave, and some who use Nair or some other similar product. Personally, I get a brazilian wax. My salon lady is meticulous (sometimes to my detriment; last time she spent 45 minutes, and a pair of tweezers was involved), and I'm smooth as a baby's bum afterwards. I used to shave, but the amount of ingrown hairs drove me crazy!
Now, I know there is a product called "Coochy Cream" (yes, that's the actual name of it), which is a conditioning shave cream specifically for shaving the nether region. There is also a "Coochy Cream After Spray", which is supposed to take care of the red bumps associated with shaving. Most adult book stores or home "party" reps (Passion Parties, etc.) may carry it.
Now, here's the thing, even in winter down here in Sunny Florida: POWDER! I use Kama Sutra Brand "Honey Dust", as it is MEGA absorbent. Without the hair to act as a buffer, you sweat, you rub up on your clothes, and that's just a party for all types of bacteria. The powder is edible, and it keeps you dry, so no nasty rashes or weird bumps.
However, mutual grooming can be quite intoxicating, providing you are not intoxicated when you do it... :-P
My two cents.
There are 3 good reasons to "manscape":
1. It cuts down on odor.
2. It makes it less likely that the chick will have to pick pubes out of her teeth.
3. It makes your schlong actually appear longer!
For the uninitiated it's best to get a beard trimmer and set it to the lowest setting, b/c when one's not used to it, shaving the whole thing (don't forget the balls!) can be problematic. It REALLY itches when it's growing back in. I had a good girlfriend that used to have me do her 'ladysculpting' when she got too pregnant to see her whahoo. So what you need to do is find a bodywaxing place that is liberal-minded. Depending on where you live, that can be difficult. It doesn't hurt to ask the ones in the phone book. The worst they can do is hang up, right?
