This new format is VERY hard to work with. I find myself not even looking at a lot of posts because of the new format.
Anyone agree?
THE OLD ONE WORKED JUST FINE
I think we better get used to the new format. In a couple of month's we'll forget about the old format. Change is not easy!!
In a couple of months some of us may just forget about TER!
classic.theeroticreview.com is the only way I can use this site. The new format is about as bad as I have seen. It seems to run slower, and at the end of the day this is a basic threaded discussion list, all the extra bells and whistles is not necessary IMHO.
The old format still works but I can tell you this once they pull it; I won't use TER at all.
Anyone agree?
Kind of makes reading these boards useless as there is really little information of value any longer, just ad after ad after ad.
If that happens, then how will we know when a lady (who we have not yet met and are not on her personal mailing list) is visiting our town? Or running a special?
Do you just want a board with posts full of bitching and complaining?
If you remove the ads, there is no reason for the board to exist.
The issue isn't that anyone really doesn't want Ads.... it's that in light of the new formats and all the damn thread bumping that happens, the volume of ads get in the way.
I would rather see TER engineer a single thread for Ads and then force all Ads to appear beneath this single thread. Position it at the top of the board if you like, I don't care but at least this way the Ads are available to anyone who wants to look at them and all the clutter goes away, not to mention all the bumping whorewars that happen behind the scenes about this. I would have much rather seen this sort of solution than the one put in place on some boards requiring the use of the new TER to post Ads... Just my 02...
Reset this thread each week. Perhaps yet another job for mods.... lol

As long as the classic format exists, I will continue to use it. After it's gone, I don't know...... I dislike the new format as much as anyone else, but who knows how long it will be around.
I have noticed a marked drop in posts on all forums because, I assume, of the general dislike of the new format. If this trend continues, I would guess the paid membership of TER will take a fairly large hit when the classic format is removed. Not sure what I will do. I have a long enough fave list to keep me going for quite a while.
Swim
Just like classic Star Trek was loved by all, the newer versions were interesting and ultimately surpassed the orig. This might take a little initial effort, but think of it as boldly going where no man has gone before....
who could pass that up?
I have gotten used to it. I used classic for a couple days then decided to try new, its not so bad. They say its a glitch that the thread pops back to the top when some one posts a reply but I like that also, it keeps you caught up without having to look back. I think Ter is trying but the demographic group
is not the 20 something that wants new and improved stuff all the time, basically set in their ways so change is not wanted when what you have works fine. I complain when get a replacement cell phone and they tell me my model is antique and not available any more, so I learn the new one. If ter wants more customers They sould go back to the days of partial reviews to entice more vip membership.
All I can tell you is that the Powers that be are acutely aware of our sentiments.
If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it!
I'm using the original format right now and it's SO much easier and nicer!
1-return the 'View all' so you don't have to open EVERY posting and
2-make the headings black and not colored, which is so hard to read
If this is done, I'll be quite OK with the new style-If not, I'll continue to stand tall with the 'This Really Sucks' crowd-1rob
This turns out to be an interesting sociological experiment. A radical site change causes a variety of responses, from petulance to acceptance, and everything in between. All the points are reasoned and expressed clearly, but at some point we get back to our primary purpose of pursuing pleasure. The style of the forum should be the last thing on our minds...it's the ladies, guys, the ladies.
I can NOT AGREE MORE... This is taking soo loong to open each message in a particular thread !!!!!!!!!!!!
Also bring back the ability to see all the photos in a thread so you so you can choose which ones you want to open.
PLEASE CONSIDER THESE CHANGES.
Use the flat option and it shows all just like the view all.
When you open a post, top right corner has VIEW tree or flat choose flat and it is the same as view all.
but the headings are in a very readable BLACK-You're a prince and the info is much appreciated-1rob
I have been trying out the new one for a couple of weeks and yesterday went back to the Classic.
Have to admit until I am forced to (like when posting my ad) I will stick the classic.
Sooooo much easier to read. I pray the new one gets dumped!!!
I have had to adapt many times over the years, one of my first bosses told me when things you can not control change dont waste time fighting it learn how to makes it work. that was 33 years ago.
Moved to Dallas 2 years ago and started using the popular boards here - aspd and now eccie - they work the way the new TER works and I never found them to be conducive to the kind of banter on TER. In fact, it was so confusing and time wasting when threads stayed alive for a couple of months - to see the most recent post which moved the whole thread to the top, you might have to go through 2 or 3 pages of post to the last one ?? at least have them in reverse order, most recent first.
But how does one go back to Classic??? I saw SoFla's link above - but when I logged back in - it's the new format - do I have to use SoFla's link everytime or is there a button / link?
