I agree with most of the posts here that ratings are very subjective (based on your own personal tastes and preferences).  However, being a member of TER for a few years now with 40+ reviews (and maybe a triple more reviews withheld), I've noticed that scores are typically inflated on TER.  Therefore, here's my personal formula (take it for what it's worth).

When Researching Providers:

1.) I start by assuming the score is always 1 number lower than whatever hobbyist gives (i.e., a 9 is probably an 8, a 7 a 6, etc.).  That's why I look at the history of the HOBBYIST who's reviewed the provider (i.e., does he typically give high scores to almost every provider, and has he reviewed anyone I've seen before).  I typically avoid and discredit any hobbyist who gives too many 10's.  C'mon dude, no one's THAT lucky.

2.) I always read the LOWEST reviewer's review as well as the HIGHEST reviewer's review (given they have a good number reviews under their belt).  I believe the truth falls somewhere in between.  I look for consistencies in both reviews from the hobbyists.  I admit, this is isn't the most reliable method, but I believe no one is always right and no one is always wrong (because even a broken clock is right twice a day).

When Giving Reviews:

1.) I've had A LOT of great experiences with providers, but I rarely give 10's (look at my reviews).  Not because I'm being mean or hard; I'm just trying to be realistic.  And I also want other hobbyists to trust my reviews (my reviews are NOT for the providers, it's for you).  If I really have to give an awful review, I just won't write one.  I apologize for that, but some women really take it personally, and I'm not trying to create any enemies - and I've made a few because of my "realistic scores."

Also, I based the scores I give on the providers I've already seen (and nothing else).  In other words, a provider will receive a 9 or rare 10 from me if she looks better or perform better than 90 or 100% of the providers I've seen.  I make no exceptions in this case.  I have nothing else to go on in order to give a fair evaluation, so it's the best I can do.  Also, I give no charity reviews (just to be nice), but I will be honest.

Again this IMHO.  I hope I was able to add to the great advice you've already received here on this post.  Excellent post by the way.  By the way, I think 7+ in looks and performance (that's an 8 by others) is worth me at least checking out. Good hunting.

I have seen some ladies that post messages on here saying "great ter reviews" but than you read them and they have ratings of 6, 7, 8 for performance and maybe a rare 9 rating and some may only have 4-8 reviews for example all in the 6-7 performance ratings.

Question is, what are the criteria that women think their review is good? What are the criteria that guys think a review is good?

To me, alot of the ladies on the florida board seem to be getting 9s for performance for the most part. Is that because the reviewer told her he was coming, so she put on an extra effort for the TER reviewer or because thats how she always is?

Just some thoughts for Q&A

8+ in either catogory is good....& a 7 in looks (which IS attractive) w/an 8 or 9 in performance catches my eye too. Chemistry is involved too on a playdate, & will influence the review for me as well.

some ladies assume that their saying they have great reviews will keep enough guys from actually looking that they can stay in business.

My main criteria is consistency of reviews based on what I'm looking for. For example, recently I read every review and every post since 2007 for Paris Bouvier. Every reviewer pretty much said she offered extended daty and that she had full, meaty, labia; also, dfk was consistently offered throughout the session. Beyond that, she was punctual which was very important to me. BBBJCIM was simply a bonus. That was enough for me.

How a lady handles herself on the forum, moreover, is an indication of how she'll act in private. Personality, I believe, is revealed in a provider's body of posts. If she's fighting with hobbyists or "outing" them, I'd stay away from her.

Quality of mind is another criteria. Intelligence helps fill the time gaps that naturally occur during a session. Are her ads prosaic or imaginative? For instance, I was quite taken with PB's gas station ad: It has to be "All-Time Best" in the TER annals.

I see you have 39 reviews. What are some of your thoughts?

I will post my thoughts after I get some feedback. That way it is honest and not scaring away anyone. I am the the type that asks, listens to feedback and than responds with possibly more questions or the correct feedback.

I am really curious to hear from the ladies first.

Excellent reply Hardwood.  Ms. Bouvier is one of the gals who excel in marketing themselves.  Your 3rd paragraph should be included in all provider reference books.

Well my definition of a great review at least an 8 or above on performance and a 7 or above on appearance.
For me its just all me. I don't put on a front for anyone. I just a good ol' country gal that loves to make good friends and loves to have a good time:)

For me a good review is 8 or above on appearance and 9 and 10 for performance

We get to read all the juicy details as you do. It's an education on like and dislikes of a gentleman. It does help provide a more desirable outcome but not by cheating on getting better reviews.

It is a benifit to you and every man here for a women to see your likes. It offers a more pleasurable experience for you. DateCheck has one up on TER. Writting a simple review but DateCheck profiles state the gentleman's preference and boy do I love anything that makes things less stressful walking in to meet someone new.

I also have an opportunity to mention the obvious from my profile that may not be the norm for the gentleman i'm seeing. I'm an over 45 lady and not hard body by no means. I also demand affection from the men I see. I always point these things out. It's better to be up front than entertain someone who will leave unhappy.

Gentlemen write reviews on ladies they have researched before seeing them and I do the same myself. Tell me what could be wrong with that ?

Every lady and man, for that matter, has a different perception of what she considers great.

I can only speak for myself, however I set my expectations, for myself, high. My goal is to receive a minimum of a 9 for performance. A 9 tells me, he forgot that it was a service...which is ultimately my goal, for each and every gentleman that I spend time with. It doesn't matter whether he reviews or not, a great companion is always seeking returning friends. Grant you, it's nearly impossible to please 100% of all men. Therefore, an occasional 8 is sufficient...as long as they're few and far between. Appearance scores isn't as crucial to me as performance. If I'm an 8 or above, I'm satisfied.

It is impossible to make a determination, upon numbers alone. You must dig your teeth into the meat, of the review, by reading the content thoroughly. Only then, can you be confident that you're selecting the proper companion to suit your needs and desires.

I was wondering how many of you fine gentlemen, would interpret my words in that manner. ;-)

There is a famous Tampa lady (actually infamous better describes her), who advertises about her great reviews.  I can't remember seeing one above 4 for performance. But for some reason, she still gets more reviews.(Like someone thinks he's gonna be the lucky one that she actually moves once or twice for LOL)
On the other hand, there's a Tampa area lady I've seen a few times now, that I think is MUCH better than some of her reviews.
Best thing to do is read the reviews she is offering up as evidence (although I tend not to bother with a pile of 1-4's) :-(
