I received a disturbing text from a provider this afternoon. I'm not sure if it came from the provider or someone else using her phone. I never knew "real" name so I'm a little confused. This provider was located in the Northern Palm Beach county area and had posted here and on Backpage. I tried calling the number several times this afternoon but the message kept saying the the phone was not accepting calls at this time. The text message was:  "XXXXX passed away of a drug overdose. This is her friend cleaning her apartment. God bless her ". I didn't know the provider by the name this person used in the text but I guess it's not uncommon for people not to use their real name anyway. Either way, it sounds like a tragedy.

As someone who you have seen?  If not it could just be a error.  If it is someone you have seen it could be a way to close down or a significant other problem.  That still leaves the possibility that the "friend" just put out a mass text to all contacts in the phone and was just being a friend trying to let others know.  I would not blow up the number calling but keep a ear open for any news on the other local boards.

Was there a name associated with the number. Was seeing a provider in that area and she fell off the face of the earth. I know they do this all the time .

... and had an id here on TER. Of course the first thing I did was to look at the local "fish wrapper" to see if there was any news posted. Unfortunately in today's day & age, a drug overdose is a common occurrence and doesn't get much media coverage even in a small town in FL. I'm not sure what the TER rules are about posting a provider's name but I have no qualms posting it. I never wrote a review for her because we really didn't hit it off and I would have rather not said anything at all.

Sounds like a text sent to all contacts in the phone. Which is a weird, and insensitive,  way for someone to tell friends and family members that someone has died. And why would a friend take it upon themselves to do such a thing? Sounds like someone's really poor attempt at humor, or someone pissed at the lady in question and messing with her. I certainly hope that's the case and that she's alright.

Hopefully she's okay but maybe she had 2 phones one for client contacts and the other for family and close friends, and it was just easier to send out a general text to all her clients?

I have seen her and my number should be in her list also but I did not get a text.
