Hello Ter members,

I would like your thoughts and inputs..

So living in chicago all my life and Had visit Miami, FL...  "south beach and downtown Miami "

Wanted to move down to warm weather nights period... This past winter we had to many below zero days and night..

"starting to now want to deal with this"

Can some give some guide onto where to move in ?

Nothing expensive but just ok.. I dont have to live in on south beach.. But a short drive would be nice..

Another question is how are the "tech job out there"?

thanks

I am sure you can find something reasonable and close to everything plus the business district is right there so you can find tons of companies in the vicinity including tech companies... Brickell has everything pretty much walking distance (supermarket, nightlife, great restaurants) plus super close to South Beach.... The weather is spectacular right now so I really think you would love living here!!

I am a native so a bit partial...but actually it is a great area! You are 30 minutes to South Beach, 30 minutes to Palm Beach, 1 hour to Naples...it's very centrally located, not as expensive as Miami or Palm Beach. You have access to 3 International Airports. Fort Lauderdale is a great area. You have great hospitals. Beautiful beaches. Some of the hottest providers around ;) Need I say more! Coral Springs/Sunrise areas have some technical/developmental parks with lots of IT companies. Put your resume on Monster, Linkd and other search engines, see what's here and best of luck to you!

The weather has been beautiful:)

Uniball2,

if you don't mind me ask what exactly do you mean by "tech job". Are you new to the IT Field? Are you in Sales or more of a Tech person? Are you a CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE? Are you in a Manager role or more of a seasoned veteran who isn't quite a manager yet?

Do you also speak Spanish? Not to dissuade you at all, but that is one thing that would definitely help working in IT in Miami. If you're not a Spanish speaker, Ft. Lauderdale would be more your speed.

I've been living in South Florida since 2001 and I'm an IT Guy. I'm just trying to get a better gauge of what you're going for.
