and I've almost never been disappointed in the crowd or the energy. In fact, I've been to swing clubs across the nation (LA, NY, Vegas, etc) and none has compared to the S FL scene.
Home-grown parties are certainly more intimate, but I find they often lack in variety and compatibility. Where you might meet 5 or 5 people at a party, you could meet 150-300 at a club.
Clearly, there's no right or wrong answer.
