I am curious about what would make people leave the hobby.  I like the variety and the opportunity to explore whatever menu I want...

If my wife was the type that was very open and would be one that is interested in a sex life in which we explore anything that comes to mind... yes yes yes...threesomes, video, meeting with providers, dressing provocatively in public and all that.... that would be a great and I would leave the hobby (well I suppose if she was open to meeting providers with me then I have not officially left...but you get the idea).

Just wondering....

1. Health reasons.
2. Entering into a relationship (I left twice for this reason)
3. Burnout. No matter what the fantasy, it's still a business and at the end of the day, we all want to be wanted for who we are and not what we have or represent.  But until then.... I'm baaaaack!

I find myself lately contemplating this... I have contacted several ladies over the past few months, only to have then email me a month later saying they were available that day. Additionally, I set an appointment with one provider, and then never heard from her again. I also find a service/rate mismatch (also seems to be in Orlando thing.) I saw one provider in Orlando who was worried about skin touching skin???????? and she has a $$$$ donation. I wrote a review, but it was approved then removed. It also has become obvious some of her reviews are erroneous. So quite simply the fun is gone...

if in the ladies profile you see massage and privates to privates that might help you out. That does not mean BareBack so if that was what you wanted your nut's.  I'm one of those ladies who won't budge on that myself .

If you wrote a review that was not so nice of a popular lady it'll most likely not  fly and it'll be gone fast if approved at all. Also they look at your time here and if the review could be fake. Some fake reviews get approved and maybe more than we think. If you have watched the board at all you would realize fast that a ladies popularity can be related to their good reviews . Change your review some while still being honest and resubmit it .

Reviews are 10% fact and the rest emotion , fantasy and how the provider is valued in the community. No one would be so factual to hurt someones business if they are a very popular provider . You would be dog meat in the community .

It was not that, this was after the cover was on and the main event was going on. Just never heard someone in this business suggest no skin on skin As your stomach better not touch mine. Additionally, she had all her reviews under her previous handle deleted. Then came back on here with a new handle.

If I saw open sores I would just leave which most ladies would do to. Was she suppose to be GFE and how many reviews did she have ?

Are you VIP ? without VIP you can't research the reviewer . That is the most important thing of all. Following the reviewer's footsteps tells you how much trust you can put into the written word. Learning to look for whitelists helps as well

I started on the newbie board long ago with the greatest mod ever to TER Jazz. He's not there any more but none the less it is the best spot to learn exactly how to keep yourself safe. I always say it's the friendliest board on TER where no question is to stupid or asked to often. You expect those visitors to not know how to search or use all the bells and whistles TER gives you or sells you. nonVIP or VIP. Those who are the teachers or helper have been in the community for awhile and will or should never make a visitor feel stupid or out of place which is what I found.

1.  If my health deteriorated where I couldn't enjoy the passion of the moment.
2.  Yes, it is a business for the ladies and I enjoy being a client.  However, if providers were to make it more difficult to get together, then I'd have to take a pass on playing the game.

I left the hobby in 2005 when I moved here to Florida.  I was actually "afraid" to work in Florida because of all the stuff we heard about LEO.  I enjoy being a provider and I missed it.

But to answer the question:   I would have to be in a very serious relationship before I would leave.  

As for burn-out, I have felt it like most of us have.  A little time off is all that is really needed for that, for myself, that is.

whether or not I should continue playing this game, or at least re-think my game plan. I risk a lot every time I pack up my hobby bag and go play. While I'm very careful and follow the system that TER has provided me with to limit these risks, the reality is one slip up can cause a lot of pain to the most important people in my life. Between yesterday's events and this thought provoking question...I need a drink. Oh shit, I don't drink. Maybe I just need to get laid. Oh shit, I don't get much of that at home either. Help!

I've been thinking about taking a break. I think that burnout probably tops the list for both the guys and the girls. Sometimes we all need a break. When I walk out of a session and think to myself "well that was a real waste of my time and money", I start to think it's time for a break. I love the times when I leave a session and just say "WOW"! Haven't had one of those in a while but I keep looking, at least for now.

I have not been a major contributor to the board but I have been here for about 6 years and I often take 5 or 6 month breaks, mainly because of what you said, I walk out and realize I really didn't want to be there in the first place. Not at the moment though, found a sweetie and keep going back for more.

Have no intention of leaving.  However, if I entered a loving relationship with an SO, I would leave.  If I'm getting it at home, and am satisfied, I would have no reason to hobby.  I hobby because I do not have an SO, and I want to enjoy the company of lovely ladies, and what they have to offer me.

I would leave if I ever decide to try the monogamous route again. I started to hobby because I don't want the BS of a regular relationship. However, if the opportunity does present itself, I would drop the hobby and make the relationship work.

... oh shit...I screwed up again  .....because then I won't have to stand in line behind you guys to talk to the ladies at future M&G's  LOL  

... and prior to that I was a rather infrequent participant. I've written 3 reviews. The 3 women I wrote reviews for are the only 3 I have ever seen in this "hobby" community. I still find that term "hobby" a little disconcerting and perhaps that reveals something of my nature in that as nice as this can be from a mostly physical standpoint, at the end of the day there is for me a sense of something missing. So I'm quite certain a committed relationship with the right one, if she is out there somewhere,  would definitely cause me to walk away from this altogether.

The fantasy can be quite enticing and seem quite real but in the final analysis it is still just that, a fantasy. Quite enjoyable and even mesmerizing in the moment but the next day it is a fond memory and day to day life brings me back to reality. So I think for me I have to keep myself focused on the fact that this will never be the way to true and lasting happiness(and I certainly don't expect it to be). However it can take the edge off of of that sense of being unfulfilled, if only temporarily.

So it is a bit of a balancing act for me where there is a desire for something more but a realization that this is perhaps the best I can hope for, at least as long as that committed relationship remains elusive.

Finally I truly appreciate the 3 I have shared time with in this way and will always have fond memories of them no matter where the future takes me.
