take some time for yourself that is not associated with the "business" like mani/pedi's and shopping.
Like one said, go to a museum or art gallery...go to a concert or take a tour of the city. When we travel, we always make sure we have a day or two to take a city tour (which can be free or very little cost). We love to discover a new place and at least leave with some knowledge of the place we just visited. I hate being stuck in a hotel room the whole time. I need to get out, get some sun, outdoor air and go for a little walk. If you can take the time to search Groupon or Living Social, you might find some things to do or places to eat without breaking the bank.
So, I was visiting with a young lady earlier this month and a question that came up was "So when you visit different cities, is it all business or do you pamper yourself i.e. massages, shopping sprees, or just sight seeing a new town?" Her answer was that she just stayed at the location for the most part.
So the question is "Is it all about business, or do you pamper yourself while touring?
and 2nd for whom may have some insight (not necessarily providers), where would one get word out to providers to a service catered to them
Trips to museums are my favorite, I love art and photography exhibits. When I visit New York for business I always schedule a cultural activity among my "extracurricular schedule" or shopping at few of the store we do not have here in Florida; even a trip to the Rockefeller Center for ice skating is a nice thing to do and not very pricey. Tons of things to do in the Northern States (Philly, Boston, NY). Touring can be stressful so why not mix it up with a bit of pleasure so you can generate revenue and see the world?. Some cities may not have a lot of attractions (specially in the Midwest) so I figure that will not leave us with much to do but, to stay in the room, read, do homework etc...specially under bad weather (rain, snow, cold weather).
When I travel I love to explore and discover restaurants, shopping and historical monuments. Time for self care is essential! PS. Pleasure IS my business! LOL Vanessa ~ Lusty Lady V
Very rarely am I going to go blow the very funds that I left town to go make...seems a bit stupid, which is why some providers rent and lease, and others own everything they have. I've gotten spa treatments, tanned, etc. but never just went out and blew a few grand on shopping, knowing what I left at home that week. Point is, when I toured, I could not simply make that money up the next day or the next week, so what I made actually amounted to something. I used to always go to dinner off the clock for the company if I booked past 5 pm. Free meal, great company, getting to see the city through the eyes of a local...priceless.
