Hello, Has anyone else noticed anything unusual about Harper Madison's reviews? I saw her a while back and it did not seem anything like what I was expecting. She was quite a bit older and heavier (not unusual for a provider) and she pressured me for more money after a very lackluster visit.
I began looking at her reviews. It seems that quite a bit of them, especially those with very high marks and glowing remarks, come from "reviewers" whose only review is that of this provider. In fact, there are quite a few providers on TER who are artificially enhancing their scores and what services they provide by creating fake reviewers, and fake reviews. Call me cynical, but that defeats the entire purpose of this board, and really threatens the integrity of TER to it's core. I have previously asked TER to look these over and they suggested I bring it up on the discussion board. I would really like them to police their site for things like this, but I imagine they will instead delete this message and give me a stern warning. I am writing this for their benefit, as well as the benefit of we hobbyists who would like the reviews to be somewhat on the up-and-up. Every fraudulent review chips away at the trust we can place in this site. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from some of my hobbyist brethren on this topic.
So when I check out the reviews of a lady with whom I am not familiar, I always look for reviews written by guys that have written a significant number of reviews. Or guys who I have met through this hobby -- be it online or at meet and greets -- and whose judgment I really trust.
To me, that is the surest way to get a real comfort zone with a provider that is new to me. Sometimes it takes a little work, but researching the reviewer is every bit as important as researching the provider. And a side benefit is that while doing research on the reviewer, you may stumble upon another name or two to add to your provider "wish list."
... A couple of years ago at a Meet and Greet. This was two to three years after you your posting a review of her. She was very thin at the time and I even said to myself I thought maybe too thin. I talked with her for a brief while and she seemed like a very pleasant and nice person. I never did have a session with her so I can't address those other concerns you have regarding her. However she looked like she does in her current pictures posted. So perhaps she was a bit overweight when you saw her five years ago but if so she apparently has lost all of that weight.
As to the issue of fabricated reviews, personally I don't see that but Pitching Wedge's advice is solid.
I have never met Harper in large part because her reviews are so inconsistent. I suspect an inestimable percentage of the reviews here are fake because the system encourages it.
Since submitting reviews offers a temporary gateway to VIP membership there will always be some who will submit false reviews to keep membership when they don't have someone to honestly review. I recently had a review I submitted copied word for word, just the providers name was changed, and if I recall they didn't change it in every instance where it was used, and the description did not fit the provider he was reviewing. It was even published the same day. I've also had providers tell me they posted self reviews, or had friends do it when they weren't getting reviews, since top of list equals top of mind. Getting a good, new review is a guaranteed way to make the phone ring. IMO, doing due diligence on reviewers is as important as doing due diligence on providers if you want to have any concept of reality. Unfortunately only VIPs can easily check out a reviewers contributions, so it becomes a vicious circle.
Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
