Just posting because I feel badly that I had to cancel an appointment on the day of. No fault of the provider but due to circumstance, my SO changing her schedule at last minute, I had no choice. Had this happen before and was able to make it up to the provider. What do you do if anything when and if this has happened to any of you?
never cancelled a date, knock on wood...shit happens and it will happen to me some day...if I were to cancel on the day of, or even a day or 2 before tha appointment, and it was an hour appointment, I'd call and offer to pay the hour using a green dot or similar card...for all I know she turned someone else down to see me and I have cost her...if it was a longer appointment I'd probably offer the 1hour rate as a cancellation fee...I would also ask if she had put money out for a room, was that lost or does she have another appointment. I'd also need to know if she took time to travel...these things would all factor in on how I'd make it right with her to cover her expenses and have something to show for her effort...the key is to be fair to her and communicate with her so you can decide what is fair.
what's the normal protocol if it happens the other way? that is if a client books/pays for a room, just for an appointment, and the provider cancels the day of? thanks,
its only fair. then again we are not out as much as they are. we actually saved money if they cancel because we got to keep the fee and can easily call up another provider. they can't always do tht. when we cancel on them they are out our money, money for incall or hotel, and money from another guy they could have saw and turned away. their business our hobby. i ait making a living here.
