Well as far as what happened….I only wish I could tell you.
All I know is I logged on to do my job and didn’t have access.
20 minutes later I get a PM saying (basically…because you can’t direct copy PMs per the “rules”):
The staff will be moderating FL board from this point.
Appreciate all you’ve done in Florida.

Yep. That’s it.
No heads up. No discussion about issues they may have had. Nothing.
Still haven’t gotten a clear answer to this point…but you know that’s how these kinds of things go.
This world is no different than any other corporate environment. There’s no requirement for those in charge to treat people with respect.
So be it.

The point that needs to be made is that I never took this gig for the staff, or the mysterious owners.
I care about them just about as much as they care about me…..or any of you.
I took it for the people of this board….and in this community.
I saw it as a chance to make the board a friendly place, limit the trainwrecks and alias assaults that sometimes happened on a daily basis, help people figure out how to use the site, and occasionally toss in what I like to think is logic.
Decisions weren’t made by me as law…..they were voted on by the people that matter. The members of the board.
Obviously I’m biased……but I think improvements were made. Differing opinions were allowed. Posts weren’t censored. The most important people….the board members…..were allowed to be themselves.
I made mistakes too….and I’ve apologized publicly for them. Nobody is perfect…and I’m not in denial about that.

If there were any problems……they were caused by people who don’t know how to act like adults.
People who are incapable of understanding that they broke rules and had to be moderated for a little while.
People who didn’t like that they come on the board and can’t get unmoderated just because they post a lot….and still can’t figure out how to post a picture.
People who get ALL bent out of shape…..because a post not relevant to the board got denied.
People who can’t even accept a post I make to point out how shitty some guys are….because I get tired of hearing about it from the women who are stalked / abused…….and go on another board and wonder out loud if I possess any of those same traits.
The definition of irony is……..two of those very people have already posted to this thread.
All we need is the newbie old gal to chime in as well and it’ll make a trifecta! (and by the way…..if you’re going to complain upstairs about a “clique” you think exists…..at least learn how the spell the goddam word correctly….lol)

Some people on this board, and Atlanta, are so wrapped up in drama, and childish in their minds and actions, that they don’t know how to behave as adults.
They whine and stomp their feet when they don’t get to do exactly what they want….they complain upstairs without going to the mod first….and they engage in gossip and outright lies.
Here’s a clue……just because you’re not one of the popular people on the board…..doesn’t mean there’s a “clique”……it might just mean that you’re simply an asshole that no one likes. Ponder that.

And……just because I HATE all the backchannel bullshit that goes on….because some can’t act like adults…….to anyone who outright spreads lies about people just to cause harm…….go fuck yourself.

Best of luck. Try to keep sane when the honeymoon period is over and you see how much time and effort it takes. And WATCH YOUR BACK. People have no limits to what they will do or say to get what they want. Never forget that this warning extends to other mods as well. There are some who will throw you under the bus just for their own gain….or just for fun.

I am pretty upset about this and I, as well as other's, felt DD was doing a great job and was fair.  

Being a mod comes with alot of BS crap and I am sure he had to deal with alot of it too.  Worse part is people do not realize these guys that do this are VOLUNTEERS!!! I am sure he could have been spending his time doing many other things but he chose to be a voice and help make the Florida board the board it continues to be.

I am not sure the basis of his name being removed but my gut tells me it's a pretty shitty thing.

DD...I hope you are doing well and for whatever the reasons are for this..I am sorry to see you go as mod...BUT don't go away as we all enjoy your comments and your point of view!!

I just hope and pray the next mod will be as fair as he was..

have you ever thought he needed a break or maybe his personal life evolved to a more personal nature. If so I wish him well and if he comes back i'm no different and neither is he.  His lack of comments wasn't noticed to me till brought up but i'm sure he will say good by to his friends here if that's the case.

I hope this board doesn't go to that with you being gone! Your a great guy and very respected not only by Florida members but by many other cities. Your always welcome in my book and TER doesn't realize the mistake they are truly making. Once they do it will be too late. I hope you can still make it down for the M & G in Feb!

Hmmmm, I may know just who you were referring to........too bad.  DD, you still have friends on this board who respect you and thought you were a great moderator!

I was the one who nominated DD for (cursed him with) this position.  I can say truthfully that he was a much better mod for this board than I ever was and he did an outstanding job, while still interjecting his unique personality along the way.  Very few people can appreciate what a mod does on a daily basis. I can and I am here to tell you, the guy is a rock star.

In the coming days, you will find out that this transition was not a result of anything DD did or did not do, but it is born from the greed and cattiness that permeates this board.  Good luck to all those who backchannel piss and moaned.  Be careful what you wish for.

Sorry to hear you go bro.  I don't know the whole story, but all I can say is that kind of short PM is really half-ass thing to do to someone who's contributed so much.
