I think it's crazy myself & I have owned guns for 45 years but carrying one in an urban setting is not part of my lifestyle.

I believe if you carry you have an obligation to make sure have a safe place in your car to leave it as there are many places bringing in your heat is highly inappropriate - like into my home...

Maybe she thinks that because not everyone is a board whore and reads them all. There's plenty of people who never go near that board....and for good reason.

Thanks for sharing though. Making the board a more happy positive place and all that.

A dangerous area, you'd think he'd leave it in the car. what a goof ball. Only thing I'm packing when I see a provider is Little Jimmy.

You're in no danger there w/LJ, lol.....

Next time....send the guy "packing" if he's packing.

I think that  most check the local board and the general board each time the are here if they keep up.  The gun thing was brought up a few weeks back and it did not get pretty.  I know as I was in the middle of it.  I do not carry but I can see why one would. Both sides of this business tend to over think or over react at times.  Shit lets all analyze the last 100 dates and see where we went wrong, NOT.  In my small mind it is not that big of a thing, he told you up front, he was a newbie, He let you put it somewhere, IE no control.  Let it lay.  As far a DD Stop being such an ass.  You have more experiance and could be a great mentor for everyone, but you choose to be a piece of sandpaper in a lot of peoples shorts.  Think back to a time when you needed so guidence and help out. with a provider or civie GF.

However, this part caught my eye--"... when he saw all of the security and cameras around my place??" Not sure I understand how you see clients with that type of atmosphere. Seems that it would be easy for LE to make a case.

... a hooker fucking a guy for money. Its easily proved unless BOTH parties admit to it. I think tomorrow the RNC will be following you around to catch your primary vote. Individuals matter so much. The dumb get "dumber" daily.

...I'm sorry but I don't check ALL of the other boards and did make a note in my post about not being a regular participant on General Discussion.

I feel like everyone is entitled to an opinion and to participate in the boards on TER -- including me. I was not aware of any other "gun" related post but that's not the point. The point is TER is a discussion forum and there have been many topics that have been discussed many times in the past and will be discussed many times in the future. The board participation in general is already suffering. Why do you want to make someone (me) uncomfortable for talking about something that happened to them? There are very few posts that aren't theme day related and I feel the board is intended to be more than that. If you don't like what you're reading why not move on and post behind something you feel more positive about? Honestly - it always baffles me when someone makes a point of flaming someone else on the board. Why do the members of TER deserve to be your punching bag?

My .02 too.

... I think your post is more personal than that. If you don't like me say so. I'm a big girl and I can take it. You don't need to hide behind an alias.

... and where you're coming from. I'm diligent about screening and don't allow just anyone to come to my incall. More, I keep a very low profile, am an excellent tenant and mind my p's and q's so am not often the target of nosey neighbors, building management, LE (knock on wood!) etc. I tend to worry more about people with false intentions vs. LE so appreciated the "Fort Knox" security at my place. I've since moved so no more cameras at every turn but still in a nice secure location downtown.

There are probably twenty different ways I could go with this, but I'll just cut to the chase: trust your instincts, be Very polite, and move on from there.  If you're ok with him carrying, fine.  If you'd rather he leave, that's also understandable.  I know if a lady showed up for a date with me and she was carrying, there'd be no date (she'd be asked to leave immediately), no cash for the cancellation, and unless she could produce a C&C permit, she'd probably be leaving without her gun.

If in a state with concealed carry permits, just ask to verify he has a permit.  If he does, he is trained and verified by the state.  If he is carrying concealed and does not have a permit, he is breaking the law.

I think that I would have to agree with that. You need to take care of you and if things do not feel right then he has to go. I think it is very strange he would bring that with him.

is why did he even point out that he had a gun?  Was he showing off?  If I'm carrying (and I don't currently) no one will know I have it.  Stays concealed.  No need for him to have even told you.

But you're right...he should've left it in the car.  Unless he was worried he was gonna get robbed or something once inside, being a newbie and all.

I 'carry' as I travel often and stay in hotels 150 nights a year often in areas I don't know well and don't feel totally comfortable in. THAT said, I never ever would take a weapon into an appointment much less show it. That's idiotic. Thanks for the post. Thought provoking.

I was in Fast Food Management after leaving the military.  All the chains that I worked for had big time rules about not carrying in the stores.  In all the chains, this was pretty muched ignoried by just about everyone who had some experience.

I've been on duty twice when a store was robbed after dark.  In both cases, they got away with lunch, and minimum receipts from the cast draws (lots of coinage).  I was also on duty during a Friday lunch but then again, minimumal cash damage.  Also during this time, two other stores were hit and the crews were found in freezers with bullets in the back of their heads the next morning.  My theory was the bad guys could have anything in the store EXCEPT my customers or crew members.

There were many occasions when I would hobby before or after my shift.  The gun was always with me and nobody else new (until now) or really had a reason to know I had it because on one's life was threatened (now I might have a heart attack but that is the nature of the hobby LOL).

My advice to most of you is slogan of the Boy Scouts:  BE PREPARD to run.  9/10 times they haven't praticed so their shot at a moving target will be wild.  RUN out of the room (pratice with the lock) or into the bathroom (pratice with the lock) and get into the bathtub.  Make lots of noise.  "FIRE" used to be what got everyone's attention and I would rather be charged with a false fire report than prostitution.

I'll probably think of more later.
