What is a meet and greet exactly and how do host one or get invited? (ok all the stupid guys about to comment to try, without reading the post, to make me look stupid; read the WHOLE POST). Does a meet and greet mean a place to meet providers and at the same place "discuss" issues? or is a meet and greet a place to meet and greet then those that meet go? How is that different from a swinger club except it it a sure thing (quoting Vivian)?

What is expected from a meet and greet formed here (both sides)?

...where hobbyists and companions meet to socialize and meet other people from this community. I have been attending them for almost 15 years. across the US. Major cities like New York, LA and Vegas "started" hosting but now most cities will have one once or twice a year.  

To host one, typically a provider or hobbyist will start organizing. Technically anyone can, but they are time consuming and can be costly. Also, someone with a good reputation/known in the community will host. They will post the date on the Meet & Greet Board and people will respond. Everyone who attends is screened to ensure LE does not infiltrate and everyone there is the type of person who will conduct themselves in a safe and discreet manner.  

They are usually held at private locations or private rooms of public bars/restaurants. You do not want "civilians" mixing in although some people have hosted Meet & Greets in public places. Typically that attendance is down as most people prefer to attend an event in a private location for privacy & discretion. There are usually between 30 and 100 attendees. Some groups host smaller intimate events were only 7-10 people showed. Others hosted in LA or NY had in excess of 100 attendees.

Think of it as a office holiday party or networking cocktail hour. It is a chance for you to meet the ladies and gentlemen in your area and those that visit your area.  There is typically no playtime and that is the why it is not like a swing club whatsoever. Sometimes there is music and dancing, sometimes there are games, and there is typically an open bar and food.  

I have hosted parties like this for many years across the US. You can check out the reviews under PleasureConcierg/Miami. We included a separate night after the social party. The second night was a few gentleman and extra women in a Playboy mansion type setting and it was all inclusive. This was more like a private swing club party.  

They are very timely and costly to host when done correctly. There is a cost for the venue, the food, the drinks, etc. if done properly. That is why there is typically a cover for the gentlemen of $40-$100 to offset the cost. For the ladies there is usually no cover to encourage attendance by the beautiful companions. Sometimes the host will incur a loss, sometimes there may be small gain, but mostly the host will break even. It is not a "business" per se, the while purpose is to get like minded individuals in this hobby together in a social setting.

Anyone can host a meet and greet and yes they are very time consuming and can be costly.  
Some folks do the parties to make money and treat it like a business.  However, some hosts
have parties because they want to attend events that have great food and a classy atmosphere  
and truly look forward to attending themselves.

Screening is critical and is best if a reputable provider to do the screening as she knows all the  
ins and outs and where to go for that information.  

A meet and greet generally is an opportunity to meet ladies that are local, all over the state and  
other states as well! It really is frowned upon to discuss "certain issues" at the get together so that
 we can just socialize and don't have any issues with anyone.  However, some have been known to  
meet a lady at the get together and make a date after. We encourage all gents to keep an eye  
on the website for a list of ladies who are cleared, reach out to them and schedule a meeting while  
you and her are in town.  This is just much safer and hey you can use the party to flirt and no what is  
coming!

As far as locations, yes they can be in a private home, a resort suite or even a restaurant with a private
room.  We have had both a private home and resort suite.  A restaurant where it is not private will flop  
(trust us we know & will not make that same mistake again~~even though we had hoped it would).  
We have also been to get togethers that are held in a hotel convention room, but they do not have a  
very cozy feeling.  

Our parties are strictly cocktail get togethers where the gents come to meet the ladies and see if they desire
to meet them in private.  We do have ladies that travel just for our parties but alot won't spend the funds to come
unless they get prebookings. Therefore, any kind of "activity" is frowned upon and not part of our get togethers.

Been to close to hundred of these going back to that first one back in summer 2005 in NYC.  Since then up until now...where to begin?  LOL, so many memories, most of them good, with a few wild and crazies thrown in...    

To the original OP, she's right.  Approach an M&G as you would any other cocktail party.  Despite the fact that the ladies are providers, be respectful and classy, and if things evolve from there...go with it as you see fit.  Often, you will have to just make make contacts as you would at any other cocktail party...that's not a bad thing...follow up later
