I travel so much that I have to write the room number on each room key with a sharpie! They just run together after a while...
This happened to me recently while travelling over this summer. And I was wondering if I am the only one. If you travel a lot for business I would imagine this might of happened to you too. Forget where the bathroom is, stumble around in the dark and open the closet or the hotel door to pee. It's kind of a funny topic, especially considering that I was totaly sober. A simple case of oh my God where am I.
Lol!
A funny topic for all you business ladies and men, I would love to hear your stories.

thanks for the kind words - your marriage proposal on Sat night was very flattering as well....
Dad tried to tell me that 30 years ago and I did not believe it. Reality sucks.
I traveled extensively for about 12 years and I sometimes woke up and was confused on time, day, and/or location. My only regret is that I did not travel to Florida so I could experience the fabulous Fla ladies!
My kind of funny story
I was visiting a gentlemen once who left the sink running in the bathroom to let the water get warm. This was a nice hotel but guess running out of hot water during busy times of the day happens. Anyway this guy was drinking and I didn't realize he left the water on. We were naked on the bed half a sleep when someone started banging loudly on the door. We didn't answer hoping they would go away. Next thing you know the door opens with a maintenance man or 2. Yup, we didn't think to put the bolt across the door and both of us were butt naked. Well the bathroom was a puddle and the water was going into the room under us so in an emergency can't blame them for coming in but standing and staring at 2 butt naked people instead of running to turn the water off seemed strange.

You fly into a location late afternoon, get your rental & go to the hotel, check in then meet your business buddies who have come from other places & have a drink or 2 in the bar. oOu all load up in maybe 2 cars & go to dinner at a local place you know from previous trips. More drinks, wine with dinner , make your way back to hotel, maybe a nghtcap in the hotel bar. Next morning, you wake up, figure out where you are shower & dress, then go out in the parking lot to go to work & realize you not only don't remember where you parked the car, you don't remember what kind of car it is or even what color it is. Hopefully the plastic rental thing on the keychain identifies it, but I can remember wandering around in a few hotel parking lots looking for a rental car I wasn't sure I'd recognize if I found it. It's a lot easier now with remote unlock fobs where yo ucan just sort of stand in the lot & push the button a few times and see what car reacts. But it used ot be more of a challenge. And I know, it was mostly the drinking that caused it, so no sermons please! ![]()
Stiil saying it was you my love !

I'm in hotels biz/pleasure prob 150 nites a year. The other nite desk clerk in one hotel I frequent asked with a wink "gonna be a good nite tonite sir?" I think I need to find another hotel in that city. Sigh.
I have to say it happens to me a bunch of times .lol mostly waking up thinking I'm in my own bed. Such a weird feeling. I can't wait to crawl into my own bed Saturday night!!!!
I'm so glad I'm not a sleep walker.
Great post Elle.
See you next week Orlando!!

Which country I was in. Try traveling in Asia and Europe for few months straight and flying daily between countries.
I have gotten confused by which hotel I am in before. I was in Atlanta, staying at a Embassy Suites. Me and a bunch of co-workers went to Dunwoody for dinner and some club hopping. Around 1ish, I decide to head back to my hotel to get some sleep, jump in a cab and tell the cabbie, Embassy Suites. He drops me off, I go up to my room, put the key card in and nothing. I try it several times with no success. Finally go down to the front desk to find out what is up with my room key. The night clerk tells me I am not registered in the hotel and that he can't help me. Finally after 10 mins of us going back and forth, the clerk tells me that there are several Embassy Suites in Atlanta and that I may be checked into another one. He calls around for me, finds and turns out I am in the Embassy Suites in Alpharretta. They were nice enough to get the hotel shuttle take me to the correct hotel where my key did work.
So from that day forward, I grab a hotel business card on the way out in the evenings and just hand it to the cabbie at the end of the night.
