.......my quick witted replies aren't so quick, but im NOT complaining.
Ive learned to bite my tongue so well its stitched up in 3 different places (lol)

So just because I'm not involved doesn't mean I don't want to be, I do.
Its been over a year since Ive been gone, and just a month or 2 since I've been back.
So much has changed, so many new names.
I feel confident that one day I will be free of moderation again, and my creative juices will flow smoothly, G*d knows the other juices have no problems..(lol)

Until that time comes, ill just sit here waiting patiently on the Space Coast (sorta, when I'm not traveling up and down the east coast and to Orlando and Tampa)

  The Moderated One xox

2? 3 maybe?

The argument of not participating simply because of being moderated really doesn't hold the water it once did. Sure, there was a time when it would take posts up to 24 hours to show up. Then....being moderated did make a difference. That was a long time ago and simply isn't the case now.
There's lots of moderated people who take place in the many discussions we've had over the last few days. They don't seem to not want to participate simply because they are moderated.

Since we're having a public discussion about this.....I'll repeat the same thing I've said to you, and others, in private.
Being unmoderated means that a person has shown that they:
1. Know the rules
2. Follow the rules
3. Check their posts for accuracy
4. Post their ads on the right board and make sure all the info is there
5. Don't cause the mod headaches by making repeated posting mistakes, then asking to be unmoderated.
6. See #5
7. No, really....see #5

Please believe me.....I'd be THRILLED if there wasn't a need for me other than to post "provider Friday" posts. If everyone knew the rules....everyone could post a proper ad that meets the guidelines....and everyone could get along..........there'd be no need for me other than to post my witty freaking banter (in my deluded mind) and have fun.
But that's not the case.....so I'm here. I'm here a lot during my normal work day. During my weekends, nights and holidays. Computer, laptop, and tiny frustrating phone.......I'm here.
I do it because I think that what people have to say is important to them.....because ads are a gal's livelihood and shouldn't sit for days waiting to be approved.....and because the board should be a fun place where everyone can take part.

I don't like moderating people any more than they like it.....and trust me.....you have no way of seeing behind the curtain like I do.......but I moderate less than any other mod on this site. Guaranteed.

Now....as an exception to what I just said.....anything posted in the next hour is going to have to wait.
I've had an especially shitty evening........and because mods are people too (ridiculous, right?) I'm going to go work out instead of getting blind-ass pissed off drunk. (Trust me.....you wouldn't like the second option.....LMAO!)

Just sayin'
DD

You are in my opinion one of the BEST moderators around.
You are quick to let it post then the others, but this post was to NOT cause a rucku lol please don't think it had ANYTHING to do with the way YOU handle the board.

It was just a comment on the different way I post, now that it's the other way around.

Sorry to ad to your crappy day.

Back to biting my tongue.

I have yet to moderate someone in the time I have been a mod, but then my regional board is pretty slow, and the newbie board just has lots of questions.

Like you, I do try to get posts approved ASAP. although some days I might be away from home all day (golf or working out, lol), but most days I'm on here off and on all day long, and check the queue quite often.

Far as I have seen, DD, you do a real good job here.  As you know, I have borrowed a couple of your posts for my Ohio board, thanks again.

Swim

Ohio is slow (at least it's not Vancouver :D ) & people are generally friendly on the newbie board...

ps. it's a really bad day if ya work out & then get sh!faced lmao

Yes, Ohio is slow, but I think all the new boards will be slow for a while until more people discover them.  And also right, on the newbie board, people are generally friendly and try to help the newb's as much as possible.  It's like being a teacher, you hear the same questions from soooooo many people.  I just try to help when I can.

of activity.  Workout in the am; then follow it with an afternoon romp with the one and only Jinnimixxx.  In the evening have a few brewskis and watch some football.

What do ya think?

vs. sh!faced...A much better alternative!

Cinnamon my GFE, I know how much funny impute you can have on this board and just how much you can make us all laugh.  I say go for it.  Just don't insult anybody and you should be fine (me excluded of course), go ahead and insult me away, i deserve it!  I'm just an ass!  ;0)
Love you
Can't wait to see you for the big party!

Elle my Vegas Girlie,
I knew you would get where I was coming from.  I just have to find my ground again.
About the big party...OMG I can not wait for it!  My mask has arrived yesterday and I'm so excited for next week!

check with the Dallas mod and see what you can do about it.  Not sure why you came to the FL board with the complaint.

Maybe that's symptomatic of why you're still moderated.

If you did you'd see that she just moved to FL.
Her post doesn't really read like a complaint when you consider the lol, more like an observation.
Loosen that rope you use for a belt and let the blood get back to your brain.

Both of you alias's have it wrong ;)
It's a wonder you both figured out how to use an alias.:)
But great try. LOL

Read post above.

Again for the slow people. LoL this was hardly a complaint. ;)

This post was NOT a complaint. But my observation on how me, myself, and I post.
It had NOTHING  to do with the lovely Mod DD :)

Now be nice Cinni :)

The posts that you are talking about and claiming people are wrong, have NOTHING to do with Cinnamon or her post.
Now look closely, carefully now, and you'll see that Jethro responded directly to HotLips post. Not Cinnamons. He mentioned that it was her first post, and she's from Dallas. My post talked about her recent ad. Obviously not Cinnamon. Duh.
Learn to read the flow of a thread before jumping all over someone and claiming they are wrong.

I was wondering who hotlips was...

I've been a member since 2008 with the year 2010 I was gone.
I'm from Florida, not Texas.
Oh and this was NOT a complaint. Never was :)

Check out which post he responded to and it should clear it up for you.

Actually, it's my 2nd post on the Florida board. As already pointed out, my first post was my ad stating that I just moved here. Is this how you welcome all newcomers to Florida? Well hello to you too sir! *giggle* And by the way, it was not a complaint. I was merely posting a response to a thread that was already started. Hmmm imagine that!

Meg

I believe you will stay moderated till you ask to be unmodrated.  DD?

Asking might speed the process up....and it gets me to directly look at someone's posting history....but asking alone won't get it done.

Being unmoderated means that a person has shown they know the board rules, doesn't start trouble, and uses common courtesy in their posts.

Simple things like learning to use eom (end of message) at the end of subject line only posts......and changing the subject line (as I did with this post) go a LONG way toward getting unmoderated. They are simple, effortless things that make the board easier to read and follow.......and save the other board members time.

Learning the rules is basic and means that ads don't need to be scanned for compliance.
Just this morning, with the 6 boards I work as mod, there have been 4 posts by people who keep asking to be unmoderated............yet all 4 posts have been denied for not following the rules. So asking really doesn't help if they can't follow simple rules that pertain to their business and ability to make money.

About once a month I scan the boards I mod and unmoderate people without any fanfare or even telling them. I just cut loose the people who know how things work and make the boards a better place.

you could only get some posters to post under the thread correctly, they wouldn't be misunderstood as demonstrated above more than once.

Most have gotten the hang of changing the subject line with the beginnig of what they have to say.

I remember the bad old days when this meant that posting anything under moderation took hours or days to be approved, and moderators would tell you point blank that requesting to be unleashed guaranteed you would be indefinitely.  Lurking was only real option back then...

What finally got me unleashed was responding to an attack post on the NY board where a visiting provider was attacked in an especially ugly way by (you guessed it) an alias.  That board had recently appointed a new moderator after the corrupt old one was banned, and my post not only was approved immediately, there were enough responses to drive the alias off.  To this day, I don't why I had been unmoderated, and I didn't know the lady in question.  Since then, I not only met her at the NY M&G that had prompted her post and my response, but at a few since then, some of which required Venetian masks..

DD seems like a reasonable guy...why not just ask him nicely to unmoderate you?
