There is an ad for an escort driver position on backpage every few days that advertises for a 6-8 hour shift were one can make up to $500. Minimum 300. The girl, Stephani, says she is very busy and to call after 6pm when ready to work and then hangs up. She requires 300 dollar deposit. Now does this sound like a scam or what? The number is a southern California cell phone number with a voice mail that is always full. She sounded extremely nervous when she asked for the 300 deposit. What is your take on this? The ad is usually listed in the part-time work section of backpage. She probably takes the ad down after she scams someone. I didn't have 300 to spend, that's why I wanted to work, to make money, not spend it. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

It's tough to decipher what's going on....but on the surface it sounds pretty scammy. No way I'd pay upfront for a parttime job aiding and abetting an illegal activity. I'd need that dough for bail, lol.

This is a classic scam. If you are serious about doing this, email the agencies and ask them if they are hiring.  Be prepared to be screened just as if you are setting up an appointment and have a clean Driver's License.

Someone once asked a similar question, although there was no investment on the driver's part. Read the link and consider what you'd be getting into...

Any "job" that requires you to give them money, is a  scam.  I prefer taking jobs where I get paid, not the other way around.
