I got one question wrong. It's embarrassing, so I will tell which one if others post their scores. :)

What does this have to do with the hobby, you ask? Well, I happen to find intelligence rather sexy. :D

13/13 not bad for a country boy who turns wrenches for a living!!

Ditto and I didn't like science in school

But I have a doctorate in Biology and used to teach at a university some years ago.

I am almost finished with my second bottle of wine after a long day that included driving over three hundred miles. I did almost the same thing as LR, I answered 12 of 13 correctly and accidentally hit "next" before  answering one of the questions.

I really hope anyone with a fifth grade education or more didn't actually not know any of the answers.  Screwing up because you are/were drunk, stoned, or just clicking the tabs too quickly doesn't count.

I could have answered all of those in 10th grade - good public schools here. Some aren't even completely correct, like the question about global warming - there's plenty of other gasses involved that have a larger effect on global temperatures per unit emitted, but aren't considered the main concern in global warming because CO2 is emitted in such a large quantity compared to the others. They have the potential to become the main concern with just a couple degrees difference in global temperature that CO2 will cause, though, like Methane Hydrate.

The statement regarding "most" scientists believe carbon dioxide causing global warming is a patently false construction.  "Most" scientists have no opinion on the subject because "most" scientists are not climatologists.

I did get number 8 wrong. Lol!

I think we definitely need to improve our education system. But it is pretty fascinating how the scores of a small sampling of hobbyists here are so much more above average than the majority who took the quiz! Can we extrapolate that hobbyists are above average intellectually than the rest of America? Hmmm... :D

This was a very lame test to say the least.
Any high school student should be able to ace it.
I can't hardly believe that it was hard enough to give the pew research people any meaningful data.
