Credit cards?

I've always been cash-only (with the exception of deposits made on my GreenDot card) but lately I've been getting requests for credit card availability.

Would anyone see that as a beneficial alternative? I'm innately against it, but maybe I'm being paranoid. I would have a neutral billing name if  were to use it, obviously.

Thoughts?

I don't like the idea of the credit card paper trail it WILL create. IMO, if a guy needed to use a credit card, why can't he hit a ATM for a advance?

Just my 2 cents.

I have never used a credit card with a provider. I know some massage parlors and spas where you can use them. I use to see an amazing provider who also was going to school for massage therapy. When she traveled, she would bring a portable credit card machine and if you wanted to, you can be charged that way. The charges would show up as some massage business.

I have never used that way and always paid cash, but she mentioned that alot of men actually paid that way.

Consider it strongly .times are tough for cash ,it easily can be buried into a business expense .Set the billing as something non intrusive .abc inc ,so it sounds like a restauranr

Credit cards would be helpful. The expense of the hobby would be easier kept from the SO.;) A special night with a special lady, a visiting provider, keeping cash at a minimum while traveling or a spur of the moment decision to name a few. The down side it leaves a trail.
If offered being a repeat visitor or traveling and setting up an appointment with a beautiful well reviewed provider like you, it would be easier with a CC. Being new to the hobby it seems to me it would be beneficial to offer a CC for gifts.

It's a good way to screen new clients.Very important to know  who the gents  are for your safety.Credit cards you have their personal info.Great for screening.

clients could deny service, claim money back etc. Yes I think there are a lot of low people who would do that, and I get a fair number of requests from people who's obvious intention is theft.

Pros: Guy sees lady, does charge on credit card, and not have to worry about pulling out cash

Cons: Guy sees lady, she charges card, guy cancel the appointment because something came up, lady decides to keep the full amount as a cancel fee or maybe half f it. Guy gets pissed off, denies charge with CC. CC takes money back, lady blasts the guy all over the net, to her provider friends, and now you got bad taste in everyones mouth

Do the pros outweigh the cons?

wouldn't use- creates a paper trail- if person needs to use credit card he can always get a cash advance

Hi, Super T,
I do think credit cards are bad-because of the paper trail-LE and IRS-if given a shot, can find out an awful lot, so why open up that can of worms? A guy who won't bring cash is a bit lazy, IMHO-I think to be on the safest side, that cash only is the only way to go.

responses were really appreciated!

I have a special situation where I could use an existing merchant account that offers a bit more protection to me (more difficult to do chargebacks) so I'll think it over some more before acting.

You are all kind to respond!

kisses,

Truth be told, while I personally prefer a cash for the more personal services in life (and intend to continue to follow that rule myself), I rarely carry much cash at other times.  We are a society of convenience though, and one of the conveniences that people have gotten used to is using credit cards vice cash.

It wasn't all that many years ago that essentially every transaction was handled with either cash or check...and people actually lived without credit cards at all, or had one tucked away somewhere for "emergencies". But the world moves on....

In the end, credit card acceptance is a growing trend in this industry (and with the Las Vegas PD estimating $109.5M last year withing the city limits, this is definitely an industry), so the question would seem to be more one of when than whether....

business me prefer to use a credit card because they can write it off.  I recently saw a friend whose daily cash limit was 200 yet his daily business limit was 50k on a credit card.  Of course I accepted his credit card.  He was able to pay me much much more....

I just billed it as "freelance work"
