I have been dealing with melanoma this past year...

and it's been pretty rough. I've had 3 surgeries and need another one next month, and then Keytruda and Opdivo (a form of chemo called immunotherapy).

My next post will probably be my retirement ((

Well, I used to really enjoy being part of this board.....

but, I have had other issues on my mind the last few years and have drifted away and lost interest.
I thought I had crossed a bridge early last summer, but had a big set back and am now just slowly getting myself back to a semblance of my former self.

I do miss many of you, though.

since admin started allowing ISO posts on regional boards, it killed them.  When I was a moderator, I complained about that, but admin did nothing.  So.....we're stuck.

and sadly it has really gone down hill.

I have been around for 8+ yrs. and still remember soo many different fun topics.  I generally
don't post much anymore because, quite honestly, It just does not excite me much these
days.  Plus on top of that I am really working on getting my 2nd biz off the ground and  
been caring for my elderly mom more and more. As well as working on planning meet and  
greets....yepper one busy lady!

I really wish TER would bring back the good ole days.  So TER admin, how about listening
to us and bring the fun back???

sun set on those days. It's been a struggling board since I came here (in '11 or '12). One post I remember that was particularly fun for me was one started by a lady, I think, who wrote the beginning part of a story. The next poster was to continue the story by adding his or her own ideas, and so on. I think there were only 3 of us who posted on it. But that was a hoot for me!  

I don't think it is down to ISOs as to why the board is not active. I also don't really see how admin could "bring back the fun", other than perhaps allowing mods or something. But I do believe that with a sustained effort to contribute to conversations here in a constructive and civilized way, we could easily make this a fun place to be.  Just look at how many of us have already participated in these threads about the lack of life here? That's more conversation than we've seen here in ages.

I remember the years before I moved to Florida when I would read the Florida board almost daily because it was so much fun.  I read it and posted on it occasionally and that was a big help to me when I did migrate south to God's Country and started to meed some of the local TER regulars.  I felt as if I had already known them.

And I would like to make one more point.  It's not only the Florida board (and other regional boards) that has slipped.  Many boards on the TER site have gone astray.  I used to participate in the P&R board back when there were a good number of reasonable adults who liked to discuss political ideas and the news of the day.  Now it's nothing more than a piece of trash, inundated by people who wouldn't know how to spell "maturity," let alone behave with some.  And some of the other regional boards have so little activity that you might see a post from over a month ago on the front page.

I guess there are many reasons why the Florida board has changed but here's hoping it can change back for the good and help up relive some of those fun times.
