The primary reason I'm still using the "classic" version is so that threads are in the order of their original post date.  I'd go crazy trying to read the board and keep up with the new version when posts bump to the top.

Unless they listen and fix some of the things that people don't like with the new version, I don't see things improvong.

My VIP just expiered and since I can still use the classic version will probably renew, but who knows when the time comes again.

Well said.  I'd make a list, but it'd be much longer than that.

I'm also using the classic version.  The lack of participation is truly sad, but not at all surprising.

Saddest thing is, the powers that be don't seem to care.  As long as I can still use the classic TER, I will probably continue my VIP.  If it disappears, I probably will too.

Well...sort of a good thing.

While the 'fun' stuff and occasional interesting discussions are gone...there's even more ads and straight up stupid and/or lazy questions.

There's a snowball's chance in hell that if board posts decline...the silent 'people' at the top will realize even more that they are killing their own site.

Again...who knows...maybe they want to kill the boards and just have a straight up review site?

We are starting to see the results of the "new" site for sure.

The only remotely amusing thing throughout all of this...is the absolutely ridiculous and chickenshit way of dealing with things from the powers that be.

From the time of the "beta" being out and asking for suggestions...to the repeated complaints not being dealt with...there has been nothing but deafening silence.
Oh wait. I take that back. Admin was all over the boards the day the switch was made. Commenting here and there trying to make it look like issues were being addressed and offering helpful tips on where to find things. Then, after that busy day, when it became obvious the site is an absolute disaster....the likes of which makes the "new" Coke look like a brilliant marketing idea....nada. Nothing. Zippo-rama.

Proving, in addition to being blind, deaf, and dumb....that "they" really don't give a shit.

Could be worse. I'd rather have someone be straight up about not giving a flying f*uck...than insult me by telling me they are concerned...yet their actions prove otherwise.
So at least they're making "their" position clear.
Pay up...shut up...and put up....with anything we feel like doing.

I've said it before...they are really opening the door to someone enterprising enough to create a new web venue that works like the users want.

Forcing providers to use the new site for ads by demanding an ad check is counter-productive IMHO.  Firing the teen-age mentality programmers and going back to classic ter forums permanantly would be very productive.

Programmers are never pleased with simplicity.  They are bored unless they are in a maze attempting to solve laryrith type games.  If ter programmers are allowed to prevail they will destroy the hand that feeds them.  

There are other review sites.  All one of them has to do is add easy to use forums and they will put a hugh dent in ter business.  Again just IMHO.

Because one person goes on and posts a benign comment on a thread, it's resurrected to the top again?  And I'm not only referring to this particular thread, but all of them.

The activity on this board has suffered tremendously, IMHO, and I'm NOT blaming the mod here.

If I'm not mistaken, there was no "Teaser Monday", to the apparent satisfaction of some of the community (not me).

The fun & frivolity seems to have dissipated completely.  Is it just because it's summer and the snow-birds aren't tuned in?  Or is something else amiss?  The economy?  The weather?  Gas prices?  Condom prices?

The streetlights don't seem to be coming on in our neighborhood any more.  It's disconcerting.

I agree with you totally.  I am tired of revisiting old threads over and over again.  They need to change this lunacy or everyone will fly the coop.

Was hoping for something new and willing to try, but this is just plain awful!

The lack of posts on the board is probably a combination of summer vacation, the new format pissing people off and mod kill.   There is nothing I can do about the threads bumping up, but it is being addressed.

Rest assured, Admin does care and has taken steps to fix all these things.  I agree that the new site went live way too early.  Classic should have been kept with beta being a second choice, not the other way around.  But I can tell you that the recent conversations between Admin and TER marketing, I finally have every confidence that the boards will be fixed.  I couldn't say that a few weeks ago.

The threads that people post on pop to the top as it is now a current post.  It beats going back a couple of days to see how it played out.  I just scroll down to see what is there just like I did on the old board. Yes somethings take getting used to but I dont think they are going back so it would be better for all if you gave constuctive ideas not just whine and rant.

I've seen worse forums. A little flexibility goes a long way. Yeah it's different, but in a week of dealing with it, I can communicate effectively my lame comments and horsehit opinions, so what's the alternative? Classic was fine, but this is the same thing, only different......Bend a little.

This thread was similar. I was making an observation about the situation rather than commenting on the person making the comment. Some guys do that, but I don't think it elevates the discussion. Too many guys were just dismissing the changes out of hand without giving it a chance. Those that can't adapt we won't hear from again, but I think everyone will eventually come back around.
